Friday Favorites #54

This week on the blog:

These two have been playing so nicely together, it's great that they can entertain themselves for a good 30 minutes before we need to break it up. They are so sweet to each other.

Baby Fox said he was buckling Mini Fox in for safety.

They are playing "family" and making beds, they were getting all of the blankets and putting them on the couch.

Snack time! A few Veggie Straws, those things are sooooo good, but are empty that you don't even get full after a whole bag, oops!

Big thing around here this week:

Yep you guessed it, forts, what kid doesn't like a good blanket fort? They are going to have so much fun camping...

I caught them peeking out to see where I was, hehe.

Things around the internet that I'm liking. This is so cool, goes to show you can't judge a book by it's cover. Amazing people.

I just love old musicals, and the fact that this guy put old movie dances set to current music and he said he didn't slow down or speed up anything clips, amazing!

I mentioned over here that this year I wanted to spruce up the house, first project on the list, was add some more pictures to this wall. Mr. did it this week and I just love it. This weekend, organizing my make up...at least attempting to. I have most of it organized, I should have taken before pictures, darn!

What are you all up to this weekend? Anything fun and exciting?

What Up....Thursday

A day late, but I really like participating in these, so here it goes, What's Up Wednesday on a Thursday...I'd like to call it fashionably late.

What we're eating this week:

Nothing too exciting, just eating our shredded meat, beans, and guacamole bowls. We're creatures of habit, that's for sure. I tried taking a picture last night at dinner, but the picture makes it look really gross...but tastes so good.

What I'm reminiscing about:

A bunch of friends have recently had babies, makes me almost have a little baby fever...does that happen to anyone else? But look how small Baby Fox was.... here he is 1 month old, he's so tiny! In case you were wondering that is Mr.'s arms right there.

Here Mini Fox is at 1 month old...so tiny...

Good thing we get to meet a friends baby this weekend, I can get some baby snuggles in then!

What I'm loving:

These hair extensions, go check them out, you should all get some, totally worth it!

What we've been up to:

Lot's of family time, Mr. has had a pretty long work days lately, but we've been getting some good family time in in-between.

Silly box kid...what happens when they've been inside all day and two boxes show up at the front door.

What I'm dreading:

Mr. has a really big project coming up, and they're rolling it out Valentine's Day weekend, so he's going to be basically working 24/7 for a week...including Valentine's Day...darn. He best make it up to me...hehe.

What I'm working on:

Valentine's treats for Baby Fox's preschool...so far I have some Juice Box Robots...and I have another one up my sleeve, coming soon.

What I'm excited about:

I got a good raise at work this week, yay for some extra money!

What I'm watching/reading:

Unfortunately not reading anything right now, but I have bought several books that I intend on reading at some point in my life, dramatic I know.

What I'm listening to:

I set youtube to just play music, and every time I liked a song, I just added it to my youtube playlist...I just started this today, otherwise, I haven't been listening to much.

What I'm wearing:

This poncho on repeat..or at least whenever I think I can get away with it. I'm fairly certain it's socially unacceptable to wear the same bright red poncho everyday.

What I'm doing this weekend:

We are headed to Disneyland on Friday and then Santa Barbara to visit my grandma on Saturday, followed by meeting a good friends baby (can't wait to get some baby snuggles in!)

What I'm looking forward to next month:

Mr's work schedule calming down a bit and seeing some good friends! (This picture, obviously) taken during Christmas time)

What else is new:

Nothing new here, I've told you everything.

Bonus Question - What's my favorite Valentine's Treat...

Hands down chocolate covered strawberries, prepared by Mr.

Hair Challenge 2016 Link-Up # 4

Hello! Welcome to the 4th week of my hair challenge! This week I sort of fell off the wagon, I worked from home on Tuesday and Thursday which, let's face it, I barely got out of my pj's. But here's what I did do this week.

I forgot to post these pictures last week, they were still on my camera when I wrote up my post last week. Oops. I took a shower on Sunday and before bed I did a two twisted braids, this is a no-heat way to curl your hair. Me in all my glory right before bed, try not to be scared :)

And then the front, not totally comfortable to sleep in, but you get used to it.

I guess my hair was too wet when I went to bed, and when I woke up for work at 4:30, my hair was still damp, oops! So I don't think they turned out all that good, but I decided to show you anyway, that way you don't make the same mistake. I contemplated blow drying it, but didn't think Mr. wanted a 4:30am wake up call, haha.

So I decided to just do a simple braid...and by the time I got to work 1.5 hours later and took this picture 3 hours after that, so a total of 4.5 hours later, it relaxed a bit and didn't look too bad.

Wednesday I was still rocking the waves...or whatever you want to call them, so I decided to try a twisty thing...

I got this hair style from Twist Me Pretty. Her's looks way better...how do people keep the fly aways at bay? Working on that one, as soon as I figure it out I'll let you know. Trying some different products out, keep you posted.

Mr. and I went on a date night on Saturday and I wanted to take nice outfit pictures, but forgot my camera as we ran out the door, so I was subject to an iPhone, a motor cycle and a parking garage...haha. I got this style from Kate from Small Things Blog.

Then I changed out of my shoes to walk up to my parents apartment and we found  fountain in the lobby...so there you go keepin' it real in the flip flops.

Better picture of the hair

I tried this on Sunday, I took advice from Nicole and tried out the Faux Water Fall Headband. I liked it, but felt like it wasn't tight enough and wouldn't last the day at work with headphones, etc. But maybe, I'll have to try it.

Monday was I haven't washed my hair in 4 days it needs to all go up type of day, so I repeated a hair style from last week. I just love this braided crown, it's so easy to do, and took me less than 5 minutes to do. Win in my book. Now I just need to find a solution to those fly aways.

What were your hair styles this week? Try anything new? Don't forget to tag me on Instagram and use #hairchallenge2016.

Juice Box Valentine's Day Robot

Happy Valentine's Day!

Okay not quite yet, but this is what Baby Fox is going to be giving all of his school friends. I wanted to give you plenty of time to gather the supplies so you can make the same things for your kids friends. I had been seeing all of the robot juice boxes around. You know the ones, with the juice box and then the apple sauce container upside down for the head and some sort of candy for the arms, and legs and sometimes some small raisin boxes. I decided to do a juice box robot as well, but with a small twist. So let's get started.

Materials Needed:

Any boxed juice will do, this is a pack of 8 from Walmart for $2.50

I found these small Rubik's cubes for $0.60 each at Party City, you'll need one for each juice box.

I found these slinkys for $0.40 each, also at Party City, you'll need two for each juice box.

Then the normal small size KitKats, $3.00 for a whole bag, so you get lots of left overs, win in my book.

Things not pictured: you'll need a glue gun.

Directions:

Step 1:

Put a small dab of glue, just under the tab where the box folds. You want a small dab so that the kids are able to get the slinkys off and play with them!

Obviously add one to the other side too.

Step 2:

Add another small dab of glue to the top of the box for the Rubik's Cube

Step 3:

Add the Kit Kats down for feet. I put two small dabs of glue on each Kit Kats.

We're in the home stretch!

Step 4:

I made this sign cutting out some hearts on my Cricut, but you can cut out any shape.

Glue the sign onto your Juice Box Robot. I decided to write:

"I like you a "BOT"
Happy Valentine's Day!
Love, Baby Fox

Baby Fox has a relatively small class, but each one of these was about $2.00.
