Polka Dots Are My Favorite

Hello Foxy Fashion Friends. Quick post today, back from my birthday dinner, belly full and happy. We found a new Mexican Restaurant, which makes me happy since we hadn't been happy with our previous one. Anyway, this week I just did my hair once. I know, getting lazy in my old age, haha.

I just love this hair style, I need to work on the side profile, but other than that, it's pretty much exactly how I wanted it.

In case you just really wanted to see a close up of my head, haha!

That's all for this week, I'm sort of feeling uninspired lately...have any ideas on new hair styles you want me to try out? OH and I am doing my hair during the week, just haven't taken any pictures...like yesterday, I got up early and curled my hair and did it half up and forgot to take a picture...darn! Oh well, next week.

Three Things I Can't Live Without...For My Birthday

Hello Foxy Friends! I'm linking up today with Andrea for her Tuesday Talk, but I thought I would turn it into a birthday edition since today is my birthday! :) I don't normally blog on my birthday, but I thought, hey why not?

Since it's broken down in threes, I thought I would do people, places and things...

Three People I can't live without...for my birthday

Well obviously my family. Yesterday was Baby Fox's first day of Kindergarten, sniff, sniff. Actually I didn't cry...almost did, but kept it together. I think if he had cried going into the classroom I would have lost it, but he was happy and smiling when he went in. So proud of him!

Three places I can't live without....for my birthday

Okay so that's a weird one. But let's say my house, I just love coming home, and this year Mr. and the kids have something up their sleeve. They keep teasing me about a surprise after I get home from work today, I can't wait to see what it is!

We usually go to dinner with my whole family for birthdays, I typically will pick Mexican food, so good! I would pick Chinese food, but we haven't found a good place out here. Actually we're trying a new Mexican place tonight, I hope it's good!

Last years birthday celebration.

Is it cool to say my couch? After dinner I really like going home and sitting on the couch and doing nothing but watch tv and probably eat cake and ice cream...again.

I mean who wouldn't want to sit on this couch?

Three Things I can't Live Without...for my birthday

You know there isn't much on my birthday list this year. I told Mr. that all of my gifts this year can be money to go towards my trip to Toronto to see The Blended Blog Ladies. I am so excited to meet all of them, and to hug each and every one of them, look out Toronto here we come!

Our Vegas trip from this past year. So much fun, so much so that the week we got back we started planning the next trip.

My camera to take pictures of my birthday, haha. Those are important right?

I guess my third thing would be my cell phone, I love getting all of the text messages and FB posts wishing me a happy birthday. Even if FB does remind you it's your birthday, it's still nice to be able to know that they took 2 seconds out of their day to wish you a happy birthday.

So there you have it three People, Places and Things I can't live without...for my birthday.

What is something you can't live without...on your birthday?

Favorite Fall Things

Hello Foxy Friends! Today I'm linking up with Andrea for a little Fall talk, she wants to know what our favorite Fall things are.

I was at the mall over the weekend and I could not pass up some yummy smelling Fall candles. The kids and I smelled every single one of the candles and these were our favorites.

Favorite Fall Candles

School supply shopping. I loved when school would start up and you got to go school supply shopping, starting fresh with new school supplies.

Via

Candy Corn! For some reason even though I can get candy corn whenever I want...it only really tastes good in the Fall. My mom used to keep it out all the time during the Fall. Give me all the Candy Corn!

I'm so excited to start wearing some of the clothes that I bought at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Come on cold weather!

I bought the grey jeans in black too, they are the most comfortable things you will wear.

Favorite Fall Clothes From the Nsale

I did buy these with my own money, but linked products are affiliates and I will receive a small commission if you click on it. Thank you for your support!

Family photos. It's one of my favorite things every year. Picking out the outfits, picking the location, everything about them, and figuring out which picture to pick for our Christmas card. It really is part of my favorite things in Fall. As a matter of fact, we're getting our pictures taken on Saturday! The location we want to take them at, you need to start early so that there aren't many people in the background. Hey one thing to check off the list.

This is our picture from last year.

I put together a list of tips to help plan your next family photo outfits! My favorite thing EVER to do!

What are some of your fall favorite things?

Friday Favorites #84

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! I actually have today off, so I'm off meeting a new blogging friend Jenny, she has such a great blog, you have to go check it out! Anyway, here are some of my favorites from the week.

In case you missed it this week on the blog

Monday: Guest Post over on Whitney's Blog about birth stories.
Tuesday: The World Through Baby Fox's Lens
Wednesday: Swing Dress on Repeat
Thursday: 21 Day Fix - The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

I forgot to show you a picture from Wednesday, Mr. is saying this is his best work EVER...so it had to go in a Friday favorites right? LOL, I know my Blended Blogs ladies are laughing right now.

You guys I won another giveaway! This time through Shelly at The Queen Inbetween! I'm so stinkin excited! I have several friends that have been hounding me to try it, and I was trying to use up my current products before dropping some dough, but now I get to try and it for free! Can I tell you how excited I am? Thank you Shelly for the most awesome start to my weekend!

Went on a much needed Mom Night Out to see, Bad Moms, so funny! We all loved it. We even went to dinner before hand, that never happens.

Some favorites of the kids this week. My hike last Saturday was amazing, my ankle did really well on it's first hike...but the aftermath wasn't so pretty, so we'll be taking it easy on the hikes for a bit...or stretching afterwards...

I love how well they play together.

Some frozen yogurt for our girl and her newly fixed chipped tooth.

Mr. was out doing music stuff so I took the kids swimming they love when I get in the pool...and get my hair wet, since I hardly do it.

This video is just too cute. I was sitting here rooting for him the whole time. And it goes to show you need friends to help lift you up.

I'm fairly certain this is magic...like how did she do that?!

Hope you have a great weekend! We're hanging out with some of my cousins this weekend, so excited to see them and spend some quality time with them.

21 Day Fix: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

Hello Foxy Friends! Back a few weeks ago, I had mentioned that Mr. and I are doing the 21 day fix. It's been about 6 weeks since we started here are my 5 thoughts on the 21 Day Fix , the good, the bad, and the ugly.

*Some of the links are affiliate links and I will  either receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you click on it or if you make a purchase from one of these links, I may also receive a commission on the sale of the product. Click here for my disclosure page.

In case you don't know what the 21 Day fix is (from the website):

It's not another diet. In fact, it's EXACTLY the opposite. 21 Day Fix lets you EAT! Only in just the right portions, so you don't feel miserable and deprived—but you CAN finally start losing weight.
What's the secret? Our seven exclusive containers. Each one is color-coded for a different kind of food, and pre-measured for the precise portion. You'll never have to "eyeball" your measurements again—if it fits in the container, you can eat it!
Combine this eating plan with one 30-minute workout a day. That's all. It's that simple!

Okay let me break that down for you: you buy small containers, each container representing a food group. You calculate how many containers you get daily based off of your weight and then prep food so you just grab and go and you do the 21 day fix 30 minute daily workout. Simple right? So here are my thoughts.

One: The Good - It Works!

It works! It really, really does work, if you follow the meal plan and the exercise it works. We needed to jump start getting healthy and back on track, so we used this to do just that and it worked! Mr. lost a total of 8 pounds and I lost a total of 4 pounds. Both of us while the numbers on the scale don't say much, feel better, healthier and our clothes are fitting much better, and my stomach is definitely flatter. I don't have that muffin top with my jeans when sitting down, you know what I'm talking about.

Two: Some More Good - Healthy Lessons

Green = Veggies, Purple = Fruit, Red = Protein, Yellow = Carbs, Blue = Dairy, Orange = Seeds and Nuts,
Portion control friends. Mr. and I have our breakfast and lunches pretty dialed in, but when it came to dinner we were portion out of control! Seriously we would just eat until we could barely move, it was bad! But why stop when something tastes so good! And literally we were doing just that, every single time. With the little containers, and when I say little, I mean LITTLE! Actually it's shocking when you see how little they are. Anyway, over the first 21 days it really taught us how much we should actually be eating. Instead of taking seconds or thirds, we know that that was enough food, and we don't really NEED any more, we are just eating to eat. So we stop.

I typically will eat one of these two things for lunch and dinner.

This was taken on the first week and I was ambitious with making fancy meat, after that first week, grill chicken or steak and call it a day.

Three: Even Better - Exercise

Ignore all of the toys....gotta do what you gotta do right?
The 30 minutes videos are doable! Actually I had been thinking about doing the 21 Day Fix for a while, but then I saw my friend Nicole doing it, and rocking it and she gave me the motivation to take the leap, so thank you Nicole! You were the kick in the pants that we needed :)

My favorite days were the Dirty 30 and the Upper Fix, least favorite was Yoga...actually I'm going to be honest, I hate yoga...a lot so I didn't even try it. But Mr. said it was pretty awful.

Four: The Bad - Hunger

I know they say that you shouldn't be hungry, but I was. I was always hungry. There wasn't a time when I was hungry. But we sort of knew this because I have a super fast metabolism when I'm working out and I went from working out 2-3 times a week to 7 times a week. But was eating less food. So you do the math. Yes I was trying to lose a little weight, so ultimately to lose weight you need your calories in to be less than your calories out...so it definitely did it's job.

Five: The Ugly - Sustainability

For us the 21 day fix is not really sustainable long term. You get burned out, the food prep alone is time consuming (the first week it took me about 6 hours!) and that is not really sustainable for longer than a couple of rounds of The Fix. By week 3 we had gotten rid of all of the fancier time consuming prep food and went super easy. Like nothing had more than 2 ingredients. haha.

It was nice that the food for the week was planned out and all we had to do was grab and go, but I just don't want to spend my Sunday's food prepping all day and having the kids sit around and do nothing.

You can use these containers, which we love for keeping all of your food organized.

This post is getting too long so I'm going to break up it up and tell you how we are doing now that we're over 6 weeks in, how we food prep, and what we're eating and what I think about it now that I'm not in it, stay tuned.

Have you tried the 21 Day Fix? What are your thoughts?
