Friday Favorites #91


Happy Friday Foxy Friends! Seriously this week, can it go any slower?! Longest week ever, but thankfully it's Friday!

Last Saturday was finally the big Autumn Reflections for Thomas House. I briefly spoke about their cause in this post. I went to the gala last year and was so moved by everything that they were doing I volunteered to help organize this years gala. I'm so freakin' proud of everyone involved, we had a goal then our stretch goal, which we really didn't think, just hoped we could reach and we knocked it out of the park...double our stretch goal people! I couldn't be more proud of everyone I worked with, even though I was the tiniest of parts, I'm so happy we raised so much money for the kids and their families.

I attempted to do my hair for the event, not exactly how I wanted it, but didn't really have the time to fiddle around too much. I think it turned out pretty good. I was trying to copy Abby's Lace Braid Up do, they seriously make it look so easy...news flash, it is not.


At least it looked good from the front. This lipstick is the Colourpop, so far I'm not too impressed, but I'll keep trying some of the other stuff... keep you posted.

The flowers that I brought...and to be clear I did not arrange them, someone else did that, they just did it at my house. I cheered them on and helped clean up.



The even started outside with a silent auction, I think about 230 people showed up.


Congratulations Thomas House for such a successful evening, you deserve it!

While we were out my parents watched the kids and they got spoiled. My mom decided that she was going to do the pink curlers in her hair, so freaking cute.





But...you knew there was a but, my mom didn't tell her what was going to happen in the morning. Well this three year old thought the curlers were going to stay in for forever...legit forever, like she didn't want to take them off. Cue the 20 minute melt down where she was near hyperventilating, luckily Mr. finally calmed her down and we were able to make it to church on time...wasn't expect that...

Wednesday Baby Fox had the day off from school so him and Mini Fox went to breakfast

They followed breakfast up with play at their favorite play place. They said it was the best day ever.



You guys, finally after 7 years living in our house, and countless times at the park by ourselves, FINALLY younger people are moving into our neighborhood! This past week we've met up with the same people at the park, and the kids just have a blast together, we're there till we can't see anything any more, and they kids just want more. I'm so excited that the kids have more kids in the neighborhood and that they all get along.

Yep that is Mini Fox in a fake blonde wig...haha, whatever floats her boat right?



So excited for the many play dates ahead...the kids get along and the moms are awesome, I'm so stoked (I know, no one says that any more...but I do when super excited).

This...I want this all day long...someone invite me to a Halloween Party.



Please someone do this in my neighborhood...pretty please.

Cold Shoulder Outfit + Co-Hosting!

Hello Foxy Friends! If you're coming over from Jill or Carrie's blog welcome to my little space! Get to know me here: cliff notes version, I'm a mommy to a boy, dubbed on this space Baby Fox (5.5 almost 6, sniff, sniff) and a girl, Mini Fox (3). I love planning parties and attempting DIY projects (my current obsession is wreaths), I'm also trying to learning about fashion, accessorizing and trying to learn all things hair and make-up, thanks for stopping by!

Can you believe that I just bought my first cold shoulder blouse? I've been trying to find one that I like, but I just couldn't find anything, until now! I found this on Shein, I'm so happy that I decided to give them a try. The clothes were better quality than I thought they would be, have you tried them yet?


For those of you that don't know, I have been doing a hair challenge all year, where I try to do my hair each week. Lately I've been having trouble finding inspiration, but this one is one of my go to styles.


It's a simple twist, and bobby pinned to the back of my head. Sometimes I try to hide them under my hair, but I felt like I wanted them to show this time.



 
It makes you look put together and in reality your hair is just pulled back out of your face.

Styling Boots

Hello Foxy Friends! For those coming from Alison's blog welcome! Today for The Blended Blog October Style Series, we're talking about boots! Give me all of the boots! I have too many pairs, although I could use some cool weather. Come on cool weather, I'm waiting every so impatiently.

Last year I did a post on transitioning your Summer to Fall wardrobe with booties...


I have bought a few new boots this season that I can't wait to break out, so I thought today I'd show you how I'm going to be styling my new boots this Fall.

I am breaking all of the rules and wearing white after Labor Day, wooo!! Who's with me? I seriously cannot get enough peep toe booties. Give me all of the booties, this is actually my first pair and I didn't think I would like them (hence why it took me so long to buy them), but now that I have them...I need all of them.

I also wore these for our family photo shoot (Similar here* and here*) but you'll have to wait to see those pictures.


I haven't worn this dress since I wore this dress since this family photo shoot, 4 years ago...because I couldn't find the right shoes...now I want to wear this on repeat...so does Mini Fox.



I wore these exactly once...actually for last years family photo shoot...funny how I keep doing that. It's worth it for the pictures right? No, really I wore them and then had ankle surgery the next day...heels and me haven't gotten along in a while, I'm finally able to get in heels comfortably... a year later, you better believe these babies are making it's debut outside of photos.


I just bought these boots** (comes in different colors and is only $29.95) from Cents of Style**, such a good deal and holy cow they are comfortable!

And this is one of my first pairs of booties I bought...I can't believe I didn't really know how to style them...now I'm all about it!

Speaking of awesome accessories, I participated in Vanessa's scarf exchange this year, exchanging scarves with fellow bloggers, yes I'm in! I drew Penny, so head on over to her blog to see the scarf that I got her. As I waited in anticipation, I got a package from Holly last week, and I could not be more excited to open it up.


Loved that she even wrapped it in tissue paper, the card was just the cutest.




And the moment you have all been waiting for.  I love how she even thought of where I lived and didn't buy a huge blanket scarf that probably wouldn't get much wear, it's light weight and has several colors in it, so it will go with a ton of stuff. Perfect!


I haven't gotten a change to wear it yet...think 90° temps...yuck. But can't wait to break this out soon!
