Fall Favorite Party Dresses

Happy Wednesday Friends! Today is the last day The Blended Blog ladies and I are linking up for Favorite Fall Finds. Today I'm sharing this dress, I bought it because it was cheap and I needed to get to free shipping, isn't that how we end up getting so many things, we probably don't need, but I'll be darned if I pay for shipping! Anyway, I was skeptical at first, but you know what, I just love it, I don't have any backless dresses, and this dress is one that just makes you feel like a girl, ya know?

I just love the back of the dress, at first I wasn't sure, but after I had it on for a few minutes, I was feeling more comfortable.

For those wondering I was also wearing this, but this one looks good too...I hear that this one is a cheaper option, and just as good. I want to try it, just haven't gotten around to buying it yet, okay I take that back, I just stopped writing this post and bought it. haha. Now I just need a party to wear this to...I am doing a MNO next week, perhaps I'll wear it there, just because.

I had wanted to do this to my hair for a while, just hadn't found the occasion to do it, it's basically two French braids and then I did a bun at the bottom, I wanted it to be more off centered, more behind my ear, but I guess that will just have to be for next time.

The lipstick is the Kylie Jenner Lip Kit in Spice, I'm seriously obsessed people.

Here are some other options I found, that are fun and flirty for a Holiday party.

Styling Boots

Hello Foxy Friends! For those coming from Alison's blog welcome! Today for The Blended Blog October Style Series, we're talking about boots! Give me all of the boots! I have too many pairs, although I could use some cool weather. Come on cool weather, I'm waiting every so impatiently.

Last year I did a post on transitioning your Summer to Fall wardrobe with booties...

I have bought a few new boots this season that I can't wait to break out, so I thought today I'd show you how I'm going to be styling my new boots this Fall.

I am breaking all of the rules and wearing white after Labor Day, wooo!! Who's with me? I seriously cannot get enough peep toe booties. Give me all of the booties, this is actually my first pair and I didn't think I would like them (hence why it took me so long to buy them), but now that I have them...I need all of them.

*Some of the links are affiliate links  and I will  either receive a small commission if you click on it or if you make a purchase from on of these links, I may receive a commission on the sale of the product. By purchasing through Foxy's Domestic Side, you're helping me to continue creating fun things for this space

I also wore these for our family photo shoot (Similar here* and here*) but you'll have to wait to see those pictures.

I haven't worn this dress since I wore this dress since this family photo shoot, 4 years ago...because I couldn't find the right shoes...now I want to wear this on repeat...so does Mini Fox.

I wore these exactly once...actually for last years family photo shoot...funny how I keep doing that. It's worth it for the pictures right? No, really I wore them and then had ankle surgery the next day...heels and me haven't gotten along in a while, I'm finally able to get in heels comfortably... a year later, you better believe these babies are making it's debut outside of photos.

I just bought these boots** (comes in different colors and is only $29.95) from Cents of Style**, such a good deal and holy cow they are comfortable!

**Not affiliate links

And this is one of my first pairs of booties I bought...I can't believe I didn't really know how to style them...now I'm all about it!

I can't wait to start rotating through them. Here are some of my favorite boots this season, can I just win the lottery so I can buy them all?

What is your favorite boot this season? Now hop on over to The Blended Blog to see how the other ladies are styling their boots.

Speaking of awesome accessories, I participated in Vanessa's scarf exchange this year, exchanging scarves with fellow bloggers, yes I'm in! I drew Penny, so head on over to her blog to see the scarf that I got her. As I waited in anticipation, I got a package from Holly last week, and I could not be more excited to open it up.

Loved that she even wrapped it in tissue paper, the card was just the cutest.

And the moment you have all been waiting for.  I love how she even thought of where I lived and didn't buy a huge blanket scarf that probably wouldn't get much wear, it's light weight and has several colors in it, so it will go with a ton of stuff. Perfect!

I haven't gotten a change to wear it yet...think 90° temps...yuck. But can't wait to break this out soon!

Thank you so much Holly for being so considerate! I love it! Now to pick out the perfect outfit

Create 28 Maxi Dress and Hair Challenge Week 23

Last week was the last week for our Style Perspectives, in case you missed it you can see the last 16 weeks here. Don't worry The Blended Blog ladies have something else in store for you! We are doing a Create 28, created by our very own Whitney and Carrie.

I didn't have time to do all of the looks, but my day was day 5, how to dress for a Warm Weather Wedding. I even gave you several options for great summer wedding dresses and how I would style one of them.  Here's a preview of what I'm wearing to a wedding I'm going to at the end of this month:

I also decided to style a Maxi Dress, I just love maxi dresses in the summer, super easy to wear, you can dress them up or down and they just make you feel a little more put together.

I'm loving that I can take the dress I wore for our family pictures and dress it down by simply adding a vest.

For the hair, I don't know about you, but I know I like having my hair up. There are a bunch of up ponytails that I want to try out come summer. But I really like this one. Pretty easy to do, and it looks fancy right?

Up close, I wish I could have changed the bottom topsy tail, next time.

Now onto the hair challenge, week 23 yikes! Where did the time go? I decided to change up my top knot and add a tiny French braid to it. I think it turned out pretty cute.

Saturday I decided to do the triple French Braid again. It's hard to see it in the pictures, but it did turn out better than the first I think.

Sunday to go home I just needed my hair out of my face, so I turned to my favorite side braid, super easy to do and quick but makes it look like I tried.

Go over to The Blended Blog to check out a recap of our last Style Perspectives: A Summer dress by the lovely Andrea from Living On Cloud Nine. I think everyone smashed it out of the park.

Now for next weeks prompts for Create 28. I hope you decide to style one of these next week and link up with us next Wednesday!

Don't forget to enter my $200 giveaway to Target! Woo hoo!

Something I've Wanted to Try + Fitness Update

So I've always wanted to wear one of my maxi's with a shirt over it. But all of my maxi's and shirts never seemed to look good. Then I thought, hey what about my denim shirt...that might work, and low and behold I loved it! I thought it needed some sort of statement necklace, so I pulled this out from my brothers wedding, added some ankle boots and bam, I got me a new outfit. In case you were wondering this is the dress I wore for our family photoshoot.

I always try jumping shots, but using a remote and being by myself, didn't really work, but I thought I would show you how funny it turned out...remember to smile while jumping, it's harder than you think.

Onto my heathy/fit initiative:

I have lost about 2 pounds. Woo hoo! We'll see how this week goes. I didn't work out yesterday because I think I might be getting another sinus thing...so annoying. One a month is NOT okay. I think I might actually have to go to the doctors. Boo. We'll see how the rest of the week goes.

Saturday I woke up at 5:30am to go hiking, I know who am I? It was crazy early, but so much fun.

And so pretty. I didn't walk nearly as fast as the other people, so I spent a good chunk of time by myself, and it was great to just be.

I am seriously so lucky where I live. I couldn't live in a better place!
Tonight is R.I.P.P.E.D, and tomorrow is probably a T25 workout. I won't have time Friday or the weekend because we're and when I say we're I really mean I'm because I'm getting away with some friends! I'm so excited I can hardly contain it.

So the diet, it's called the Slow Carb Diet (a way to lose specifically fat), this guy has a great website on it. Anyway by Friday I was just angry...I didn't pack enough food for work, so I was just hungry, all the time. Which you're not supposed to be at all, if you're eating enough protein. So this week, I've ramped up the protein and so far so good. No angry wife/mama here. So far, but we'll see when Friday rolls around again, haha.

I'll report back next week with my results from Saturday. Thinking those first two pounds were probably water weight, but we'll see. Summer here I come! I might actually buy a new bathing suit, something I haven't done in 7 years...well I did buy a speedo one-piece to wear to swim lessons with the kids. My bikini's are not meant to swim in, lol. I spent more time making sure I didn't pop out then enjoying the lesson, LOL.
