Weekly Favorites #2

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! Wow this was a long week! And I have today off! haha. Today I'm so excited, I'm filming a Mukbang with a friend/blogger. Have you heard of those? Basically you film yourself while eating and chatting. Mostly people do them by themselves. I'm doing it with a friend, can't wait. Strange I know. Anyway, let's get onto our Friday Favorites.

In case you missed it this week:

Monday: TBB Asks
Wednesday: Outer Wear

Last Friday I took the day off of work and went to visit my cousins in LA. Well I met up with 2 of them, and then we went to meet up with another cousin at his work since we had never seen it. Yep some Emmy's his shows have won.

He took us out to lunch and then we headed back to my other cousins house to hang out. But before we did that I took my kids and my nephew (really it's my cousins kid, but that's just too long to say), to see where I went to college, we just barely stepped on campus, but I got some good pictures down Alumni Mall.

My aunt and uncle came and hung out too, wish we had gotten a picture of everyone together.

But the little cousins always have such a blast with each other. Case in point....they made up a whole dance about being cousins.

Too bad they don't get along at all.

Mini Fox started her month of horseback riding lessons that we got her for Christmas, yep just 4 lessons, and she's cherishing every single second of it.

I'm so proud of this kid, he goes to karate for about 5ish (on a good week) hours a week and loves every moment of it. I love that he's learning how to defend himself should the need arise and I really do think it helps his confidence and discipline. I highly recommend you find a martial arts studio for your kid. We're trying to get Mini Fox into it, but so far she's lukewarm on it.

Mini Fox decided she wanted to make soup at her preschool, so they did...the teacher let her put anything she wanted into it. I thought it tasted like tea, Mini Fox didn't like it, but I took a picture of her with the soup and her burrito (like mama like daughter), instead of eating the soup.

Nothing like a little spa time before bed.

This weekend we have no plans, we're having some friends over tonight for dinner, but Saturday and Sunday are free, probably cleaning up the house, putting away/find a place for all of the Christmas gifts...yep they're still laying around. I did however clean up 90% of the Christmas stuff, so that's a plus. Have a great weekend, see you on Monday!

10 Random Facts About Me

Remember last year, Erin hosted this link up? Well this year Jen has taking over 10 on the 10th. Thanks for taking over Jen! Today we're getting to know each other a little better and I'm giving you 10 random facts about me. I thought this would be the perfect post as there are some new readers out there (at least that is what I tell myself).

First this is my family. I've been married for almost 14 years, have two kids Baby Fox (8), and Mini Fox (5). Work full time, 52 miles from home (I know I'm crazy pants), I spent a lot of time on the road. Wake up at 3am, so I can be home for the kids to take them to all of their after school stuff. Okay so lets get started with the randomness.

ONE

I love Mexican food. I could eat it all day everyday. When Mr. and I first met I ate a lot of bean and cheese burritos. He thought I was going to turn into a bean and cheese burrito. We went to a place called Tito's Tacos (super popular in LA) at least twice a week. It's a total hole in the wall, mostly walk up and usually 50+ people in line. So good and so worth it.

TWO

When Mr. and I first got married, we met another couple (who happened to be our orthodontists), who asked us if we wanted to go skiing with them in Utah. We said sure...we have no idea how to ski, but let's do it! We then decided perhaps we should learn before we go, so we went up to Big Bear did a crash course over three days so when we got to Utah we wouldn't be total newbies. We had a blast and eventually put off trying for kids so we could get an extra season of snowboarding.

View of our favorite run in Park City.

THREE

I use to be on the diving team in high school. I loved it, wasn't very good, but loved trying it all. Plus getting in and out of the pool so much gives you amazing abs.

FOUR

My favorite fruit combination is strawberries mixed with green grapes. It makes me ridiculously happy, so I try to give that to myself as much as I can, so when I am at working, waking up at 3am, it gives me a bit of joy in the middle of my day. I know I'm weird.

FIVE

I went sky diving with my dad and it was pretty awesome. I think everyone should go skydiving once in their life. If you can go near an ocean, that's even better. Yep that's the little plane my dad and I went up in. I think the scariest part is the plane ride up, but once you get up there and jump out it's the most amazing experience. Nothing like a roller coaster ride...

SIX

I've never had a Hot Cheeto, or any sort of "hot" chip, just not my thing.

SEVEN

Mr. and I love end of the world movies/zombie end of the world movies/any movie that involves people surviving. Not sure why, I guess we found common ground, he hates watching chick flicks and this is where we landed? The Rain on Netflix is really good.

EIGHT

I tried to go vegetarian when I was in high school, and my mom said nope you're not going vegetarian and then made dinners with only meat so I had to give in. It last about 2 days, haha! I like meat too much to go vegetarian. Although sometimes for Lent I give up meat for the whole time, it's hard.

NINE

I can throw a perfect spiral football, almost every time.  I also have a sweet spot on the basketball court where I can consistently make a 3 point shot.

TEN

When I was younger I want to be president of the United States, but found out I couldn't because I was not born here and am a naturalized citizen, my poor 8 year old soul was crushed. Now thinking back on it...it's probably a good thing, I do NOT want that job.

What is a random fact about you?

Here are the other topics if you want to join in on the fun.

Vest (similar) / Jeans / Shirt / Shoes (similar)

This was so comfy, I'm wanting to buy all of the fur vests, like this one.

Make Up: Foundation (in 350) / Concealer to cover dark spots (in Biscuit) / Concealer to cover dark circles (in Medium) / Eye Shadow (Sweet Tea and Chai Tea colors) / Eye Shadow (Cafe color) / Lashes / Lash Glue / Eyeliner (filler) / Eyeliner (cat eye) / Blush (mixing colors brilliant nude and Radiant Finish) / BronzerLipsense lip color (glam doll and Plum) / Eyebrows (similar)

I bought this coat in Hilton Head at the Michael Kors Outlet and let me tell you how warm it is! I love it, I actually wore it yesterday to work.  Also comfortable to wear sitting at a desk.

Jacket (similar) / Jeans / Shirt / Shoes (similar)

I mean this hood...it's also removable.

I recently bought this when I needed to get to free shipping at Macy's. You know how it is, but it turns out I really like it. Like I need another jacket, but it didn't go back and I have no plans to return it. I love that it gives jeans and a sweater a more put together look.

Jacket / Jeans / Shirt / Shoes (similar)

We don't have much more "winter" left, so I'm going to try and wear this any time it gets dark...haha.

The hood might be my favorite part with the fur. Oh and it's under $40!

So what have you been wearing lately to keep warm?

Oh and for all of you long time followers...this is for you :) Mr. took my pictures, as I can't find my lens or my wireless remote at the moment...darn it!

Alright, now go check out what the other ladies are wearing to keep them warm this winter.

Prime Purchases

Today I'm linking up with Tayna who hosts what we've been buying. How fun is that? We all purchases stuff, and I love to see what others are buying and what I NEED to get. So let's share the wealth of knowledge of the goodies and get started! Click here to see my past purchases.

With Christmas just passing, I thought I would share some of the things I got for the people around me and what I got. I have been eying this for a while and was so happy to see it under the tree. I've already scheduled a craft night at my house for next week. I haven't had a chance to use it yet, or get it out of the box, but it looks like I might need this? Does anyone know? Might need to do some quick reading before people get to my house next week!

I also go a Kindle Paper white. I NEVER thought I would be in this camp, but as I get older, and want less clutter, and the books are starting to pile up in random parts of the house...I realize that the kindle is convenient, light weight, and so far I like that you don't have to turn on every light in the room to read. So while we were at Great Wolf Lodge over the break, the kids were sleeping and Mr. and I could read to our hearts content and not bother the kids.

Of course he had to get me a cover and this one was inexpensive and good quality. It comes in 44 different patters, so you're bound to find one you like!

Mr. also got this for when we're in the spa and a game is on tv...he can watch from the pool/spa and not have to worry about it going in. It doesn't impend the sensitivity to the touch screen either, Mr. was pleasantly surprised with that, and keeps it in the case all the time now.

We actually own this book, and it's definitely one of the cutest books ever and it has ribbons that come out of the book with each color to make a rainbow at the end, one that I don't mind reading on repeat.

How cute is this Play Doh set? For the kids who love play doh and Star Wars, the perfect match.

We got this for a family friend who loves Harry Potter but is over the Lego thing. Not sure how it plays, but thought it was a great fit for those that fit into that category. Who doesn't love a little Clue?

It's now the 7th of January and I haven't bought one thing yet...oh wait, not true, I bought 6 of these bins to store our Christmas supplies...the current ones all broke this year. Well they were already broken but really broke beyond repair this year. Oh and not all 6 bins are used for Christmas...now that I think of it, I think I'm one short...darn it.

TBB Asks January

Hi Foxy Friends, it's another first Monday of the month, which means we ask the questions and you answer! Easy post for a Monday morning. So lets get started, here are the questions:

Books you have read multiple times?

Favorite Book/Author of all time?

Hmmm....I don't know if I have one of all time, but I remember my first favorite book was The Winner by David Balducci. I've read it twice, and I have completely forgotten the book. This is why I keep books, enough years go by and I totally forget it and can read it again and it's like a new book. Must mean I need to read this one again.

In general though, I really like Jodi Picoult books.

Favorite TV show to binge?

Gilmore Girls, I think I've watched the series at least 3 times completely through.

Favorite Newish TV show?

Hmmm...we'll currently Mr. and I are watching Continuum on Netflix. We're on the 4th episode and we really like it. It has 4 seasons, but there is already a series finale, so you get the whole story and don't have to wait, we like that.

Before that we watched Travelers, which is a fantastic show.

Both shows are about time travel, so if you don't like time travel then you won't like these shows.

Favorite movie of all time?

I'm going to have to go with Ever After. My roommate in college and I would watch that movie every night to fall asleep to, it just brings back good memories.

Movie you are looking forward to watching?

Aladdin, it was my FAVORITE movie growing up, so I'm really excited to see it when it comes out. I hope it's good!

First concert you attended?

I believe it was an N Sync concert with my cousin. It was so much fun, it was the first time I had been to San Francisco and taken the BART to get around and really going on a trip without my parents. It was so much fun hanging with my cousin and her friends. I remember we stayed up and watched Selena before going to the concert the next day, totally random memory. No pictures, I don't think...that's a little sad to think about. Wonder if my cousin has any pictures? Do I? Hmmm...???

Ultimate concert (even if it can't happen)?

...what would be my ultimate concert? To be honest I like listening to music, but I don't really know artists and the names of people. But I really like Pink, Britney Spears, Maroon 5, Justin Timberlake and maybe some Lady Gaga, that would be a fun concert. Or maybe we should go with The Beatles and Elvis Presley.

Favorite Music Artist/Band?

Hmm...don't really have one? Baby Fox's favorite band is Imagine Dragons.

How do you listen to music?

On the radio mostly in the car. I know I'm lame. Or YouTube. I find the people I like and play it on YouTube.

Head on over to The Blended Blog to see what everyone has to say.
