Friday Favorites #165

Hi Foxy Friends! Happy Friday! I actually worked 5 days this week, it's a miracle, or not, I would have rather worked 4, lol. Onto this weeks Favorites:

Monday: 3 Southern California Getaways
Wednesday: 10 Summer Must Haves + Dressing Up and Romper
Thursday: My Ulta and Shein + Amazon Haul

Any videos you guys want to see me make?

Saturday was jammed packed with events. It started with Mini Fox and soccer in the misty weather. She did great and scored two goals! She's looking forward to next seasons, she really wants to play in the Fall, but this Mama isn't sure if she can handle two soccer practices for Baby Fox and 1 for Mini Fox...yikes!

We hustled home and got ready for the Mother's Day Tea at my mom's church. My mom did a great job organizing, and I helped cleaned up, and Mini Fox and I ended up washing 80+ glasses by ourselves...

Meanwhile these two did this.

Then I ran home and dropped Mini Fox at home and changed to go to a PTA MNO. Which was super fun!  I forgot to take pictures, but did take this one. This was close to the end and many people had already left, oops!

Meanwhile Mr. and another dad, whose wife was with me, took all 5 kids out for ice cream (yep Baby Fox got two ice creams in one day) right at bedtime. We got the text at 8:15...dad's for the win.

Sunday, Mr. took Baby Fox to the Angels game for Little League day. Was a long day for them, but they got to parade onto the field and they got on the jumbotron 4 times! They were happy kids.

My dad got to join them for the fun.

And this kid got his first slurpee.

Meanwhile, I went to church and got this girl to smile (not my kid) in a selfie...I'm thinking she likes me, every time I take a picture she smiles.

We surprised (this is the same lady I was with last night and all 5 of these kids got ice cream), we surprised the littles by taking them to a play place for a bit.

Then out to lunch. Where she smiled again :)

Then I offered to take the middle kid so my friend could take her youngest home for a nap. They had a blast, I had a quick errand to run, the kids were so cute together.

They played a lot, and then sat down to watch some Frozen.

The men got home shortly after and they ended up staying for dinner. 12  hours with friends, yes please! Love unexpected days like these.

Some things that I am loving or want lately. There's always a list right?

I was always a Knudson's sour cream girl, wouldn't stray, had to buy brand. Until one day I was at Sprouts and they only brand they sell is Daisy, then I saw this packaging...and had to have it. It's perfect and you never need to get a spoon dirty to dish out the sour cream.

These sandals, I want a pair for summer. I think they look super comfy, and I think I can get a lot of use out of them...speaking of absolutely nothing. We were talking at work about how many shoes we owned. I knew I owned a lot...but had no idea. I counted...I have 79...let that sink in. Also that counts slippers, flip flops, bowling shoes, climbing shoes...all of them. So how many do you have?

You all know I got a fitbit recently. I talked about finding some fancy arm bangles this week already, but I want something that is the rubber kind that is a different color than black. I get 12 colors for $16.99, that seems pretty reasonable doesn't it?

I want to get these, but I already bought Mini Fox a dress to wear for 4th of July...darn. Maybe next year? But at this price point, can't really go wrong?

One last thing. I recently went to a MNO for our PTA, I know strange, but hey, they raised money. Anyway, they had a couple of vendors there, and I was introduced to Street Color. It's for your nails, and instead of it being a sticker, it's actually nail polish. But you place it like a sticker, you smooth it down and then apply clear mail polish over it. How cool is that? Plus 20% goes back to the school, so I was really supporting the school. I bought 6 packages...oops! I'll keep you posted how it goes, since when I was there, someone else put the nail polish stickers on me. But if you want to try it out, let me know and I'll send you the link for the party.

Oh my gosh, so funny and super entertaining. This guy tweeted about his entire field trip with 60, 10 years olds...laughing so hard, you have to read them all!

Remember last week when I told you we bought this? Well going to put it to good use so I can make this, Yum.

What I Have Bought Recently

Hi Foxy Friends! Today I'm finally sharing what I got at the Ulta 21 days of beauty event and Shein! I find that Shein is hit or miss, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that I loved almost everything that I bought (the grey sweater gets an eh, a little scratchy). Here's a video with the break down of everything, including a video of me wearing the clothes. Speaking of which, super awkward posing for a video instead of a picture. You feel obligated to do something cute...how do people make it look so effortless?

If you want to see closes ups of the lipstick colors or the clothes I got, click on the links below.

From Ulta:

Tartiest Double Take
Eyelash Curler

From Shein:

Love Tee
Grey Sweater
Lace Tee
Grey Striped Dress

From Amazon:

Disposable Nail Art Ring

Anything you getting from the Nordstrom sale that I NEED? I'm seriously considering getting these sandals, this sweater and this jumpsuit (but shortgirl problems it probably won't fit, that model looks tall and it's long on her!). But haven't hit buy yet...

Didn't make it to the video, but I really love this desk tripod too! It's sturdy and you better believe I'll be using it for some tutorials soon! Oh and in case you were wondering I use this program for editing my videos and photos.

10 Summer Must Haves

Hi Foxy Friends. Today I am linking up with Rachel and today we're talking about Summer must haves. Today I decided to style my must have for Summer, the Romper. I've had a love affair with Rompers for a couple of years now, see proof, here and here. I've bought a couple of rompers lately, one I am showing you right now, and the other is coming next week.

I thought I would show you how you can style a romper for both day time and evening events. Cause who wants to change when going out? Not this girl.

Dress (similar) /  Shoes (similar)

Blazer / Heels (similar)

You guys, I got this fitbit for my 15 year work anniversary gift, and I really didn't like the whole rubber bracelet look. So while looking for alternatives, I found these bracelets. How cool is that?! So now I can look stylish and still keep my accessory game on. I really like this one, it is a wrap around leather bracelet.

This was me trying to pretend to walk like you see other fashion bloggers do...how the heck do they make it look effortless? And any tips on keep grass alive? I'm failing horribly.

In other summer fun things...that you HAVE To HAVE

I these pool floats work. They have beans like in a bean bag...I see mold and gross things in our future? We'll see....I'll keep you posted.

I have to mention the sand free blanket, coolest thing ever! It's awesome to put down and let the kids sit on it wet and not have the sand still be on the blanket. It goes right through the blanket, and we lay regular town on top if we want to lay out or what not. Highly recommend this blanket for the summer! And can we talk about the hat. I'm not sure if you can see, but it says Blah Blah Blah...haha, I just thought that was hilarious.

I also already did a whole post on cute bathing suits for you to wear. I own 5 and 7 and they are so, so cute on.

3 Southern California Weekend Getaways

Hi Foxy Friends! Today I am linking up with The Blended Blog and in honor of Victoria Day, we're talking about long weekend celebrations. I decided to talk about 3 Southern California getaways.

First we'll talk about Mr. and my favorite getaway. It's where we always try to go when we get pawn  someone to watch the kids.

We like to stay at bed and breakfasts, that way you get breakfast with your hotel stay and all the ones we've stayed at it's delicious! I wrote a post all about our last trip to Santa Barbara last month. Our favorite of all time in Santa Barbara is Simpson House Inn, but can't stay there every time because $$$$.

A good second choice is Upham Hotel (this is where we stayed during part of our Honeymoon). We stayed in one of the bigger rooms with it's own courtyard.

Another reason we love Santa Barbara is State Street. So much shopping to do, and if you are ever there you HAVE to go to the Coach store, it looks like a regular store, but it's actually an outlet and we ALWAYS score really good deals. They have some really good food too. We went to a place called Goa Tacos, holy cow people these are a must eat!

Plus walking on the pier is always fun, and there are some good restaurants at the end too.

The atmosphere is super laid back, you can go to the beach, or go shopping, eat lots of good food, and on Tuesdays they have cheap movies and a Farmers market. Plus if you really want to, you can do some wine tasting in Santa Barbara too. Which is always fun. We went to a local place called Jaffurs, really good wine.

Next up is Palm Springs. A quick drive from LA and so much relaxing to do. I stayed at the Marriott, and quick frankly you never even really have to leave the hotel, they have everything right there. We did a much needed spa day and wow, the service was amazing, they had a spot you could eat lunch, and the whole thing was super relaxing. Plus you could connect your Netflix to their TV and watch whatever you wanted in your room.

Plus they have flamingos on site...pretty darn awesome.

Last but not least, Big Bear, also a short drive from LA, shorter than Palm Springs and so much to do. Skiing in the winter (provided there is snow that year), and hiking in the Spring and Summer. Super family friendly if you want to take your kids with you. They have easy trails to hike or harder trails. We did an easier trail and the kids did great!

They also have some fun places to eat in the downtown area and cute shops to shop at. Plus if you go during the winter, they have a fun tubing place to go to, the kids had a blast doing night tubing.

They also have a small zoo there, that has only rescue animals. The kids loved it and it was fairly cheap to get in too. They are expanding it this summer, so next time we go it should be double the space they have now!

We find that staying at a house is the best and that making your own food while chatting with friends is so much fun and makes the best memories.

So there are 3 of my California long getaway weekend spots. There is also San Diego, but we don't go there too often, because traffic can get really bad, as there is really only one way to get there, and what should be a 1.5 hour drive can turn into 3-4 hours easily! We took these pictures at the La Jolla Pier, which is just north of San Diego.
