Floral Shorts Outfit

Hello Foxy Friends! I'm joining my IG friends tomorrow for a little floral look. I just got these shorts from my Sweetly Striped, as you can tell a lot of my clothes lately have come from them. I can't help it, it's all so cute! I got the last pair of these shorts, but these are very similar. I'm sort of digging the non denim shorts right now, they're more comfortable and they look a little bit more put together with very little effort.

Can we talk about the shoes? I had told you last week I bought them, but now that I have them, everyone needs them! I would give you a close up but my nail polish is chipping and no one wants to see that. Anyway, they are under $20 and SOOO comfortable! I cooked dinner in them last night and they were so comfortable. No blisters first time wearing them. It looks like the black is sold out right now in my size, but the other colors are there, I might have to pick another pair up. They are definitely going to be my go to sandal of the summer!

chain bracelet (similar) / white bracelet (similar) / gold beaded (similar)

I got this cute necklace, that is all one piece so no actual layering is happening from my girl, Jessica over at Sweetly Striped.

What are you going to be wearing on repeat this summer? It was 86° here today, so Summer is on the brain right now. See you tomorrow!

Blast From the Past

Hi Foxy Friends! Today over on The Blended Blog we're going back to our high school selves to show you how we dressed...Not sure if I want to show you. As I am looking through pictures, I don't feel like I've changed that much! Haha!

Then

I went through some old pictures and realized I sort of wear the same thing...take this, denim shirt with floral skirt...that's in right now...sort of.

Now

Updated the skirt to a tulle one, and tied off the chambray shirt.

Skirt (Similar) / Shirt (same style, different print)/  Heels (similar) / Earrings (similar) / Necklace (similar)

Then

Baggie jeans with a tank top...I still wear a lot of tank tops. Baggie jeans, no one likes those.

Now

White jeans and a floral tank top.

Jeans (similar) / Tank (similar) / Wedges (similar)

 Then

Jean shorts, tank and a short sleeve sweater...hmmm...the buttoning of the sweater, I question that.

Now

Ditched the sweater, and gone to printed tank tops.  No weird short sleeve, button awkwardly shirt needed.

Shorts (similar) / Tank (similar) / Flip Flops (size up at least 1/2 a size)

Alright now that I've thoroughly embarrassed myself, what did your high school self wear? Go link up your fashion post to The Blended Blog.

California Fall Outfit

Hi Foxy Friends! Happy Wednesday! I can't believe it's Wednesday, I have a big project due on Friday...not close to being done...not good. Oops! Anyway, that doesn't stop me from dressing cute though :) I know this week on The Blended Blog is all about plaid...but a while ago I decided plaid just wasn't my thing. Even though I try, I don't think it looks that great on me? Perhaps I haven't found the right thing yet? Not sure, but I thought today I would share my perfect California Fall outfit.

I saw this shirt from Dani from Coffee Break with Dani, and I had to get it. It's so cute with the ruffle and a perfect addition to my Fall wardrobe. It's thicker, so it will keep me somewhat warmer than my thinner tank tops. The jeans I got from the Nordies Anniversary Sale and are so comfy and they are currently on sale!

Perfect Fall Outfit

Just need to add a sweater to this and it would transition right into California winter.

Perfect Fall Work Outfit

Hi Foxy Friends! I know I've been a little MIA lately, just enjoying the family, staying out late, putting the kids to bed way later than normal, hanging with friends and enjoying one of the best summers ever! Taking pictures in the summer is hard for me...it's super sunny, I have a sunny backyard, and it's hard to sneak in pictures. When the sun doesn't go down till late, I'm usually not in the mood to take pictures. But this weekend it was actually cloudy, so threw on some clothes and took a picture for you.

Anyway, this is the perfect Fall work outfit as sometimes it's really cold in the morning and evenings and warmer in the afternoon, so you can take the blazer on and off as needed.

Pants (similar here and here) / Camisole / Blazer (similar) / Heel

Andrea, which I can't find the exact post, but she's wearing the cami in this post...said they were comfy and versitle, so I jumped right on it. Right now they are buy one get one 50% off, so jump on it, it's a good deal! She is so right, I have it in three colors, this light pink one, a white one and a black and white polka dot one (I can't say no to polka dots). I actually wore this skirt (it has elastic in the waist, with a regular front, so you get the comfort in the back and style in the front) with it for church on Sunday.

In case you are wondering, and I know you are...I'm wearing this strapless bra. Stays up all day and I'm not constantly tugging on it, so I guess that's a win.

Florals and Mermaids Go Together

Hi Foxy Friends! I have two things for you today. First I'm joining the ladies over at The Blended Blog for a little floral style post, and I'm ALSO going WAY out of my comfort zone and tried to do an artistic make up look. I decided I was aiming for a mermaid look...whatever that means, so stay tuned for that.

First up is florals. I'm in love with these floral tops from Old Navy, I do believe I have them in three or four different colors, oops!

Shirt (similar but long sleeve) / Jeans (similar here (high end), and here (budget friendly)) / Shoes (similar)

I really like dark background with light flowers, it's my floral jam. Like this one. I liked it so much I bought it in two different styles. This shirt is similar to the pattern below.

This week I also participated in a new to me make up challenge by Vanessa from Vanessa Loves Make Up. The category was artistic make up. Let me tell you how hard it was for me. I tried doing the halo look. Like she did...

That does not look good on monolids...it was awful. So I decided to get creative and use a cut crease method (something I discovered while trying to scour the internet for artistic make up looks on monolids...not out there by the way) Anyway, this is the look I came up with.

So if you want to see how I got this look, please watch and like the video if you can.

Create 28 and Hair Challenge Week 25

Hello Foxy Fashion Friends! Today we're back at it with another week of Create 28. Go check out this weeks recap on The Blended Blog, everyone did such a fabulous job this week!

This week I actually styled two looks! I know I can't believe it either. I was just feeling inspired! First up is Sunglasses Styled. Funny enough I rarely wear sunglasses. I am definitely not one of those people that needs to wear them as soon as I step outside. But I was just recently looking through my scrapbooking closet (and when I say that, I mean I can't find anything because it's so full), and found these pair of sunglasses Mr. and I had bought back in the after Christmas sales at Express. So here is the outfit I styled...

Without the sunglasses (man it was bright outside, all the pictures I took I was squinting...I guess I really did need the sunglasses).

These jean shorts, the most comfortable shorts EVER! I bought it when I was out shopping with some of The Blended Blog ladies, seriously, worth every penny!

And the hair...I actually wore this outfit on Saturday to Baby Fox's half birthday party...I knew it was going to be hot, so I wanted it all up, perfect excuse for this Knotted Mohawk style. I didn't feel like I had enough hair at the end to complete it how she did, I'm fairly certain she has extensions in, so I just left it in a ponytail which I think works just as great.

My second look is the Pinned It and Did It look. I have lots of outfits pinned, but I had been wanting to try a  to cut an off the shoulder t-shirt with one of my t-shirts. After getting my Chico's T-shirt from the blogging conference, and I knew I probably wouldn't wear it as is, I thought, this is the perfect t-shirt to try this with. So I followed her youtube tutorial and I think it turned out pretty good. I wish the t-shirt was a little bigger, but I think it still worked.

For the hair I did a twisted half do, and added some extra twists to cover up the rubber band. I think that it turned out great, I'm really into doing twists right now, not sure why, but I think they are just so pretty.

Onto my hair for the week...

Last Wednesday I did this simple braid...can you guess...it was day 3 hair, so a braid is necessary.

I fully admit I watch stupid TV, it's mindless and I like it...but I was watching Young and Hungry and Gabby had something similiar I was trying to copy, but it didn't quite work out like hers, but I went with it.

Back with more twists on Monday, it was 107° here, so fancy pony tail for me.

I wanted to do some twists again, but decided to do a braid instead, this wasn't exactly the look I was going for, but hey it will do :) It was still easy to wear and comfy all day long.

Random fact: See that white background behind me? If you see it, it means I'm at work, toasting my bread for breakfast... The toaster is in a corner of the building right by a window where no one walks unless they are using the toaster...perfect spot for a selfie.

This is our last week of Create 28, I can't believe it's coming to an end so soon! No fear we have something else planned for the summer months, plus something really fun for Fall. So stay tuned for details once we've hashed it all out. In the mean time, don't forget to hop on over to The Blended Blog for a full recap of all of the this weeks outfits. The prompts for our final week.

Link up one of this weeks prompts or any outfit post, hop around and meet some new people! Thanks for joining in on the fun!
