October In Numbers

Happy Monday Foxy Friends! Today I'm joining the lovely Deena for her Month in Numbers link up. I love looking back on the month and seeing all that I have done, click here for pervious months. So let's get started.

3300 - Miles traveled for a work trip but at least this was my view from the hotel.

4 - The number of allergy shots I got

3 - The number of soccer games I watched, it would have been 4 but Baby Fox got sick for one of the game and couldn't go.

1 - The first time I went to Cracker Barrel, it wasn't bad, but not something I would probably seek out. I hear that they have good breakfast, we had dinner.

18 - The number of selfies I took, last month was 12, and I said I needed to get better, mission accomplished.

4 - The number of hours I got to spend with my godparents. I haven't seen them in years, we talk/email but it's been a while since we have seen each other, it was awesome and I can't wait to see them again, hopefully sooner than 2 years!

1 - The number of hurricanes I almost was in...okay that was weird, but I traveled for work and when we got there we found out a hurricane was headed our way, we high tailed it out of there! Look at the hourly wind...111 mph...yikes!

40 - The number of flower arrangements Mr. and I donated to Thomas House for their Autumn Reflections benefit...

1 - Date night...this is sort of pathetic...this needs to be higher....

6 - The number of years we've been to the pumpkin patch with friends, my how time flies!

6 - The number fo family costumes we've done over the years...I hope to have many more, but as the kids get older, it takes a bit of time to get them all on board to one theme...fingers crossed for next year.

What was your month in numbers?

Favorite Fall Jeans

Hello Foxy Friends! Happy Hump Day! How it is November? This month The Blended Blog ladies and I are giving a month of our Fall Favorites. It can be anything, from clothes, to shoes, to things around the house. Each week I've decided to show you something different in my Fall Favorites list.

*Some of the links are affiliate links  and I will  either receive a small commission if you click on it or if you make a purchase from on of these links, I may receive a commission on the sale of the product. By purchasing through Foxy's Domestic Side, you're helping me to continue creating fun things for this space.
I bought these jeans at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, and oh my word, they are the most comfortable things ever! They're under $100 and you feel like you're wearing pajamas. The top is super comfortable too, I can't find the exact one but this one and this one are similar.

Now onto my favorite hair style. I usually do this when I'm on day 4 or 5 hair, click here to see how to extend the life between washings. Simple top knot, hides the fact that your hair is slight greasy, and it looks cute too. Seems like every time I do one it turns out different, which I absolutely love how it's always slightly different. This is my favorite Dry Shampoo.

The bobby pins are using are amazing. I didn't even know there was a different between the Target/CVS kinds...yes there is a different. I use these, and it's a game changer, seriously. Click here for the bronze bobby pins and click here for the black ones.

What are some of your favorites this fall? Link up down below!

Thanksgiving Wreath

Hello Foxy Friends! I hope you are all recovering from your candy overload from last night :) I thought since Halloween is over, let's jump right into Thanksgiving. I was at Hobby Lobby over the weekend with my family and on a whim decided to see if I could find some decorations to make a Thanksgiving wreath. Of course I found  bunch of things, picked up some random things, without really knowing what I was going to do with it...but I think in the end it turned out pretty nice.

What You'll Need:

*Some of the links are affiliate links  and I will  either receive a small commission if you click on it or if you make a purchase from on of these links, I may receive a commission on the sale of the product. By purchasing through Foxy's Domestic Side, you're helping me to continue creating fun things for this space.

Wreath (I've been using the same wreath over and over again, but click here for my full tutorial)
Sign to put in middle (I almost always start here, find the sign, buy the "fluff" to match - This or this would work too)
3 sprigs of beaded leaves, wide spread (if I could do over I would have gotten 4 of these)
2 sprigs of beaded leaves, smaller (if I could do over I would have gotten 3 of these)
5 small pumpkins
Burlap Ribbon (color is your choice, I chose a plaid, this would work)

Directions:

Start with a plain wreath, mine started out with my Fall Wreath, and stripped it down so I ended up with this:

Step 1:

I added the burlap plaid ribbon to it, click here to see the video I made, I threaded it slightly sparse so I could use a lot of it to make a bow.

Step 2:

Add the wide spread berries, I wish I had another one of these, but when buying materials I was just sort of grabbing things, because I was mostly trying to rush before the kids and the Mr. got too antsy, you know how it is. As you know I like to be able to take it apart and reuse the wreath, so I didn't glue or hold anything down with wire, I stuck the stem through the burlap and there was enough friction to hold it in place.

Step 3:

Next I decided to add the pumpkins. I got lucky with the pumpkins and they were already on stems that had some edges that you could use for friction...so that helped me. I stuck the stems through the burlap and bended it how I wanted it. The stems had wire in them, surprisingly, so I could bend how I wanted it to look. Don't worry about placement too much, you just need a starting point. I ended up moving a couple of them once I had everything else in place.

Step 4:

Make the burlap bow, click here to see how to make a burlap bow.

This is what it ended up looking like after I was done fluffing

Step 5:

Add the bow to the wreath where you think you want it. I like putting it off to the side. I threaded a piece of floral wire through the backside of the bow, and attached it with the wire, so I could easily take it off when I'm done with this season.

Step 6:

Last step is to add the sign that you find. This one was sort of big and I was worried it wouldn't fit in the wreath, but I think it looks cute. I just thought this little turkey was too cute to pass up. After placing the sign I ended up moving the pumpkins around and fluffy thing plaid so that you could see it a little better. In the end I am in love with the final product, the whole thing took about 30 minutes to make, that includes having to stop to take pictures of everything.  Considering it was a last minute Wreath DIY, I think it turned out pretty good. I wanted to get rid of the Halloween Wreath, but the family vetoed and said I couldn't until today...hehe.

And the wreath on my door, I'm in love!

Past Halloween Costumes

Happy Halloween! I'm so excited for tonight, taking off work early and going to go to our friends house for some Halloween fun, 6 years and counting! I thought, since I don't have any pictures from today yet...I would show you past Halloween Costumes.

2011

My mom showed me on the first one, and then I made the other two. For a first time costume sewer I think I did okay.

I worked during Baby Fox's naps and on weekends, 1.5 months later I got this:

I think I have a pretty fantastic husband willing to dress up as a bear for me.

2012

We found this cute Dragon Costume at Old Navy so we went as a dragon, a knight in shining armor and a princess.

2013

Again Old Navy for the win, we found the zebra costume and Baby Fox pretty much fell in love with it the minute he saw it. So we went with it. Mini Fox was only 7 weeks old and Old Navy had a cute little Monkey jacket, so we bought that and Mr. took one for the team and wore the bear costume again! I decided to go as a Park Ranger trying to tame her animals....hey that's the shirt I never thought I would wear again....

2014

We let Baby Fox lead the way and he wanted to be Spiderman, so we went with it, and made Mini Fox Wonder Woman and Mr. and I were the bad guys. I actually tailored my own costume. I had to buy a men's one size fits all, and Mr. and I wanted the same stripes, so I seamed ripped the sleeves off, cut down the shoulder size and then sewed the sleeves back on. I was pretty proud of myself.

2015

Baby Fox wanted to be Batman, so we convinced Mini Fox that she wanted to be Bat Girl...power of suggestion people...it's amazing what you can get accomplished. Then Mr. was The Joker and I was Robin...and can I just say that I was 5 days post ankle surgery and hurting, yep I walked around on crutches and joked around with everyone that Batman got to me. I strategically hide behind Baby Fox so you couldn't see my hurt foot.

Can't see my foot, but you can see the crutches, by the end of the night I was dying...so I rode in the kids wagon...good thing I'm short and could sort of fit...lol.

2016

Of course we haven't worn our costumes yet, but here's a sneak peak.

Epic fights happened in our kitchen this weekend, can only imagine what's going to happen tonight, as the other two familes we're going Trick Or Treating with will be in Star Wars costumes as well, so excited to get a group picture.

Do you do family theme? Or what are you guys going to be for Halloween?
