Friday Favorites #1

 Hi Foxy Friends! Blogging 3 times in one week? Who am I?! Anyway, thought since I started this blog way back when to document the kids, I would start back up with my Friday Favorites. Things that we're doing, or loving this week. So here we go.

A couple of Sundays ago we went to the beach to watch the sunset. We never do this, but thought, what the heck. It was so pretty, nice just to sit and do nothing but watch the kids play and watch the sunset.







Can I tell you how long it took to get this picture when you ask your 10 year old and 7 year old to do it? 50 pictures later...haha!





And what's going to the beach if you don't get a good jump shot? Girl is finally learning to get the best jump shots, now to work on boy.




This guy got his expander in on Monday and it taking it pretty well. Considering his favorite foods have been cut out of his diet for the next 18 months. He's the one that has remembered to turn the key the past 4 days. So proud of him.




Let me get this out there, Mr. and I don't do much for Valentine's Day in general. We've been together for 17 Valentine's Days...or is it 18? Hmmm...anyway, I went for a walk with a friend, and on my way home, I decided last minute to get Mr. his favorite breakfast burrito. So I walked in with his breakfast burrito and saw this...my favorite chocolate covered pretzels. If you haven't had them, they are the Chocolate Covered Pretzel Thins from Trader Joe's.


So basically, Mr. and I gave each other food for Valentine's Day. haha.




Continuing the food trend, found this gem at Costco, and it's delicious. Give it a try, yes it's Costco size and took us a while to get through it...but worth every calorie.

I've been wearing a lot of nail polish lately, and a friend told me about a mineral nail polish remover that you could use to take off your nail polish, so I decided to give this a try. Low and behold it totally works! I use it with nail clips, because I typically do Color Street Glitter nails and we all know how hard it is to get glitter off, and this stuff works. I cut these up into strips, then get the pad wet and use the nail clip and wait a few minutes, rub off and it's done! Little cleaning up to do, but so much easier on the nails and skin than using acetone.


These are all Color Street nail strips, and I love them. I might have way too many and keep buying more, oops! These are the recent ones I've done in the new year. I typically will wear one set for 2 weeks, then off for a week or so (mostly because I don't make the time to put them back on).

I was going to put some sort of glitter on top of this black color, but just loved the black that I kept it. I might put on some glitter to extend the life of this set in a few days.

Okay I think that's it. This weekend, Baby Fox has baseball try outs, fingers crossed he gets picked up by a team. Yep it's like a draft over where we live, it's ridiculous, but it is what it is.

Best Kids Bathing Suits - BOGO!

Hi Foxy Friends! While a lot of you are still knee deep in snow this is the time of year that Target puts out their buy one get one 50%! There isn't a better deal out there and once it's gone it usually doesn't come back! Don't worry I've collected some pretty great options for you, but if you don't like any of these, there's still 100's of others on the site. So let's get to some kids bathing suits.

I typically gets these for the kids Easter Basket because let's face it last years suits are not going to be fitting them this summer. These kids are growing like weeds.

I am for sure going to get Mini Fox #3, I mean ruffles and stripes? What could be better? Nothing, that's what.

All of these rash guards are super cute. Mini Fox isn't much for rash guards, only when she's old, but might need to pick up #3 or #4 for her.

I love that these come in sets, with a matching swim suit and rash guard, so cute. Mini Fox is going to love #2 or #4, I'm thinking the brighter color, easier to spot her in the ocean or the pool.

How cute is the mermaid tail swim cover up? She would die if I got that for her. But we got #1 sort of recently and it still fits, so don't think we'll be getting any swim cover ups this year...maybe. We'll see.

Baby Fox is in much need for some new swim trunks. He's growing like a weed. I really like buying him bright colored swim trunks, easy to spot him in the ocean and pool, so I'll probably get him #4 or #5, good thing his favorite color is orange. I do however really like #1, so might need to throw that in there for good measure.

What's Up Wednesday: February

Hi Foxy Friends! Today I'm linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for What's Up Wednesday, where we share what's going on with us. So let's get to it:


1. What We're Eating This Week (more like what we've been eating lately)

Mini Fox's favorite breakfast, eggs in a hole, which I shaped like a heart.


We had lobster for Valentine's Day, it was delicious.


I've also gotten into making homemade bread, like everyone else during quarantine. I probably make 2-3 loaves a week for friends and family.



2. What I'm Reminiscing About

Our last trip we took was a year ago. We went to visit our friends in Canada and met up with some other friends and it was wonderful and I miss seeing their faces. We use to travel to see each other a couple of times a year, so going a full year without hugging them is hard.

4. What We've Been Up To

This kid got his expander yesterday, so we've been dealing with trying to figure out how to eat...any tips for us? It took him an hour and a half to eat dinner. Poor guy.


5. What I'm Dreading

Not much right now, I was dreading Baby Fox's expander, but it went in with no problems.

6.  What I'm Working On

Maybe opening and Etsy store? I keep making things to put in it, taking all the pictures, but have yet to do it...I just need to do it already!



7. What I'm Excited About

We just booked a trip to Maui for July! Really hoping it works out and we can go!

8. What I'm Watching/Reading

Firefly Lane, so good, on episode 6 and need to know who the funeral is for!

Currently Mini Fox singing herself to sleep.

I'm obsessed with this jacket. I might have bought it in a berry color too.


11. What I'm Doing This Weekend

Baby Fox has baseball tryouts, hoping that we an actually have a season this year, fingers crossed, good sign that we have try outs this weekend. And Mini Fox has her horseback riding lessons.


 
12.  What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month 

Mr's birthday, which also happens to be when the world shut down, so one year of quarantine...yikes, that is crazy to think about. So guess I'm not looking forward to that part, but this will be two birthdays in quarantine for him.

13. What Else Is New

Hmmm....I recently cut Mr's hair... and it didn't turn out horrible.




So what have you all been up to. I'm going to start blogging more, I loved that this was a way to document life, and I've really fell off of that, so here's to new beginnings and me starting to blog once again...I can do this! Although I've said that in the past...I'm serious this time...really!

Non Candy Valentine's Day Gift for Boys and Girls - Tik Tac Toe

 Hi Foxy Friends! I cannot believe that it is almost February! How did that happen? I have a fun non candy Valentine's Day treat to share today. You can get some of the stuff from Dollar Tree, but make sure to go early next year. I got my stuff 2nd week of January and when I went back a week later, all of it was gone. So make sure to be on it for next year! But good news, Amazon has all of the stuff too, and for a reasonable price too. So no need to panic, you still have time to put this together! Really you could make these for any occassion, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, 4th of July. Just change out the jewel color or rock colors. Okay let's get to the quick tutorial:

Things You'll Need:

Heart Burlap Bag

Plain Bag (4x6)

Acrylic Hearts

Black Rocks (similar)

White Permanent Vinyl

Black Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV)

Craft Pick

Contact Paper

Squeegee 

Cricut I Use

Easy Press I Used, but you could use a household iron as well.

Parchment Paper

Note: If you don't have a Cricut you can always use a fabric pen for the Tic Tac Toe and a Paint Pen for the rocks.

Directions:

Here is a video I put together on how to make this. I would consider this a beginner Cricut project. I can't wait to give it to our friends.

Step 1:  Create the correct size X's and O's and tic tac toe board and names if you are personalizing it in cutting machine program and cut out. If you would like the SVG that I created, please email me!


Step 2: Iron on the names and tic tac toe on your bag. If you got bags with hearts on it, iron on the name over the heart. If you didn't get the bag with a heart on it, cut out a heart with HTV and iron that on first and then iron the name on. In general I do 305°F on my Easy Press, but look at the directions of your heat transfer vinyl. Place your HTV on the bag, then put a piece of parchment paper between your HTV and your iron or press. Make sure to try and not put the iron over the strings of the bag. Sometimes if there is a little unevenness it is hard to get a good press and will result in your HTV not sticking.




Step 3: Put your X's and O's on your gems or stones. I didn't use the transfer tape, but if you want perfection use your transfer tape, but I found it to be faster to not use it. With how many of them you have to place, I would definitely just use them like stickers.




Step 4: Package them up super cute to give to your friends.
