A Look Into My Closet

We are all having so much fun with the Fall Challenge, linking up with each other that we decided to create a link up so we could keep the fun going. This week the top is a peek into our closets/organizational tips. I can't say much for the organizational tips, but I can show you my closet.

When we moved into our house, Mr. re-did the closet for me, and gave me as much hanging room as possible. And then I bought those small thin hangers so I could get as much in as possible. I might have a problem. You decide.

Right Side

Left Side

So let's break it down:

The top rack is my clothes

1) Tank Tops
2) Short Sleeve Tops
3) Long sleeve shirts and blouses
4) Sweaters and jackets

The bottom rack is for Mr., although I've taken over some of his rack too

1) Short sleeve shirts
2) Dress Shirts
3) Polo Shirts
4) See Below

This is the part that I've taken over of Mr.'s rack

I don't ask for much, just some space for:
1) Skirts
2) Shorts

Now onto the back wall and the left side

1) Dresses: this includes the 7 weddings I've been a bridesmaid, and all the random dress I've worn to weddings, I never get rid of a fancy dress, you just never know.
2) My pants
3) Mr.'s pants
4) Mr.'s shoes
5 and 6) My shoes (I have a problem: See below)

See what I've showed you? Those are Mr.'s the rest are mine...yikes!

Under the dresses

Under the pants

These are under Mr.'s shirts

I can't forget my scarves, this time last year I had about 2 scarves...I've really added to my collection

and one last spot in my bathroom, under my sink.

Let me break it down for you:

For the jewelry I've gotten so many over the years that the one drawer I had them in wasn't cutting it, so I put them in baggies and then put them in the show boxes

The necklaces, keeps them untangled from each other and I can grab a baggie and see what's in it easily

The bracelets in a different box

The rest of those drawers in there, are pretty much a free for all, I admit it, I need to get better, but it just hasn't happened it. Maybe one day...

So that's my closet and my organization tips (okay just one, but it's something).

Now go check out some other bloggers and see what they're closets look like. I'm most excited for Deena, I've seen her closet in the background, but never in pictures.

Patience

Patience, it's something we all lose at some point. You can feel it slipping away, your toddler is driving you bonkers, pushing every button in exactly the right sequence to make you want to scream really loud. I don't think I have any secret to keep my patience in check. Here are three things that I do help me with my patience.

1.

Sometimes I have to take a step back and remove myself from the situation for a minute, recollect my thoughts and go back in to deal with whatever it is that I have to deal with.

2.

Keep things in perspective. What does my child really want, and why is he/she behaving this way? Sometimes it is as simple as realizing that naps didn't happen, so they're just tired. Trying to get to root cause of why they are lashing out at you.

3.

The last thing I do is talk to him. I just tell him what's going on, and why what he is doing is bothering me, or how his behavior is affecting those around him. Sometimes it works, other times, I have to tag team Mr. and really get out of the house. But that's happened maybe once? And then when I think back to what it was that made me lose my patience, I usually can refer back to lesson 2, and realize that oh yea, he didn't get that nap, or he went to bed super late last night.

Not really helpful, I think we as Mamas just need to do whatever it is what need to do to get to the next minute, the next hour, the next day. Some days are better than others and we can't beat ourselves up over it. They won't remember this one incident, but they will remember all the good times and all the hugs and kisses and the love that they feel. Not one moment in time. At least that's what I tell myself.

How do you keep from losing your patience with your toddler?  Check out the other mama's blogs for their tips.  And be sure to link up with us below if you also have a post on this topic.

In the difficulty of motherhood, it's so important to find other mamas to relate to.  Toddlers can be a handful and leave you wondering what to do next.  This series is here to help you navigate through toddlerhood while being able to relate to other mamas going through the same thing.  We may not always know what we are doing but we give it our best shot anyway.  Come back each week to check out our new topic and read along with the other hosts of our One Year and Beyond series!

Fall Style Me Challenge - Week 4

Last week of the challenge, I can't believe how fast it went by. Too fast! Here are the past weeks if want to take a look, Week 1, Week 2 and Week 3.  Although our weather didn't quite cooperate as much as I would have liked, I can definitely carry a lot of these outfits into our winter.

So here are the last 5 outfits.

Day 17

This outfit called for a leopard scarf, but I wore that on Tuesday, so I decided to go with a floral one instead.

Long Sleeve T-Shirt - Target, Jeans - Loft, Cardigan - Loft, Flats - Payless, Scarf - Norstroms (old)

Day 18

I didn't think I would like this combo, but it was super comfortable. I thought that it needed something else, and I'm obsessed with scarves, so why not add a scarf? I thought it really completed the whole outfit.

Long sleeve T-shirt - Target, Boyfriend Jeans - Old Navy (old), Vest - Old Navy, Wedges - Target, Scarf - Nordstroms (old)

Day 19

I admit when Alison suggested this outfit I was a bit skeptical, but I put it on anyway. I wasn't quite sure, but looking at the pictures I think it works. I thought it made me look boxy, but not so much? How do you wear button down shirts with sweaters over them?

Plaid Shirt - Wet Seal, Jeans - Loft, Sweater - Target, Leopard Flats - DSW

Day 20

These are my new boots, I sort of love them. After seeing so many people wearing cognac boots, I had to have a pair too.

Fancy Sweatshirt - Loft, Skinny Jeans - Loft, Boots - Macys

Day 21

I felt like this outfit was very similar to day 17, same shirts, different pants, so I went with a different sweater instead. I think it's unexpected, and I sort of like that. I absolutely love this sweater.

Now that this challenge is over, I'm looking forward to the Winter Challenge, even though I'm fairly certain non of it will apply to where I live, but at least when I go somewhere cold maybe once a year, I'll have a lot of cute outfits to go with me. I'm going to actually try to shop my closet for the Winter Challenge...yea right, but a girl can try!

Halloween Night

I know, one more day of Halloween talk and then I'm done...I promise :)

Little Miss though she was hot stuff walking around

and riding on the big kid plasma car. We found this Plasma car like, but for toddlers, we're hoping she'll get around faster, and that way Baby Fox has one and Mini Fox has one her size.

She got on this all by herself and was propelling herself all over the place
Our full outfits, see my shirt? I actually cut off the sleeve, took the whole thing in and then reattached the sleeves. I think it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. The only size they had was a men's one size fits all, it fit Mr. it did NOT fit me.

Kids all ready to go

Mini Fox's first official, I'm old enough to get my own candy. She held onto that starbursts like it was the last one on earth.

So many to chose, not sure which one...what's Daddy want to eat, since I have no teeth?

They are all getting so big!

Years past:

2012

Missing one kid

2013

The rest of the weekend was super lazy. Saturday we had the laziest of days, Mr., Mini Fox and myself were all sick, so we let Baby Fox pick out two videos from RedBox and let him watch movies all day long, sometimes you just need one of those days.

Sunday was sort of like that, I did the grocery shopping and then went to the movies, yep, I went to the movies with some friends for the first time in...I can't even remember. We saw Gone Girl. To tell you the truth I was in the middle of reading and just found it hard to finish, I was really dragging on reading it, so I figured I would see it and then finish the book if I thought it was worth it. Well it was so good, I really liked it. Definitely worth finishing!

And that was our weekend. How was your weekend?
