Style Perspectives: Leggings and a Scarf and Hair Challenge Week 18

Hello Foxy Fashion Friends. Yet another week of the Style Perspectives with The Blended Blog! I am loving seeing everyone style the prompts and meeting new people through the link up! Keep 'em coming!

This week Katie is up with her Leggings and a scarf look. This one was really hard for me to do, while I love scarves the weather here doesn't really warrant them in any other season but Winter...and when I say winter I really mean 1 month out of the year. I must admit I took these photos cause I really would wear this, but then thought it wasn't spring AT ALL, then took some more, but the outfit I picked...let's just say I thought I was following the leggings are not pants...but apparently not...not a good look. So here's what I did do :)

Of course you want to see the hair right? For the life of me I can't find the tutorial I did for this hair style...oops. if I find it I'll come back and link it. I think it's super fun and would even be fun with some soft curls. Next time I'll try that, that's if I can find the tutorial or remember how did this!

If you missed it last week, everyone styled a plaid look. Didn't everyone do a great job?

Now onto the Hair Challenge. This week was lame. I just wasn't feeling it this week. Mr. was gone most of the week so I worked from home, which left little desire to even get dressed. The only reason I did, was I had a few doctors appointments, no one wants to see me in my PJ's. So here is the one and only style I did this week from Missy Sue, it's called the Half Up Ladder Braid. I'm fairly certain I missed some pieces, but I was in a time crunch and only had 10 minutes to get it right. next time will be better. It was super fun to wear to the Pentatonix concert! Which I'll be recapping on Friday.

Maybe next week will be better...hopefully. I can do this! Get back on the band wagon!
Are you trying anything new for your hair. Over the next few weeks I'm going to stray from my favorite dry shampoo* and try a new one...I'll let you know how it goes.
*I did buy these with my own money, but linked products are affiliates and I will receive a small commission if you click on it. Thank you for your support!
Now go check out some of the other Blended Blog ladies and see how they styled their leggings and scarf look.

Sentence A Day: April Edition

I got this idea from Pinky...who got it from Rebecca. I thought it was such a good idea that I shared it with The Blended Blog Ladies and some of us decided to do it too. I just love how it's one sentence, so you have to be really intentional with how you word it to make you remember how you were feeling that day when you wrote it. We're going to do it again for the Month of May, so link up with us on June 2nd!

April:

1 - I ate a full piece of pizza for the first time in 8 years, and didn't get sick!

2 - Our 11 year anniversary was spent on afternoon dates with the kids and then a movie and a dinner date.

3 - The kids ate at Korean BBQ, I repeat the kids at Korean BBQ, liked it and asked for more.

4 - Mr. left for a week, insert sad face.

5 - Baby Fox finally got to do gymnastics at the gym and had homemade French fries, delicious!

6 - No gym because Baby Fox threw a massive screaming, crying fit.

7 -  Been eating Thai food all week because I was too lazy to cook.

8 - Red Box movie and cookies with the kids.

9 - Mr. Is home from his business trip!!!

10 - Family fun day at the Carlsbad flower fields

11 - Mini Fox is all about Daddy

12 -  Car races down the slide with Baby Fox

13 - Back at R.I.P.P.E.D. To the Core...I love this class so much.

14 - Driving to Vegas to meet The Blended Blog Ladies!!!!!!!

15 - First day of BAM, not sure if I like this conference thing.

16 - The conference ROCKED today and had the best time staying up late chatting and laughing

17 - My love language...shopping all day with my best gals!

18 - So hard to get back into the swing of things after such a great weekend

19 - Birthday dinner at parents house for my dad's 70th birthday!

20 - I got a bunch of allergy testing on my back...soooo uncomfortable!

21 - Only one more day before I get my patch testing off!

22 - I was more allergic to the tape of the patch test than the tests themselves, darn it!

23 - Chuck E Cheese birthday party followed by Baby Fox's hair cut.

24 - Went swimming after breakfast and the kids loved that I got in the pool, must do that more.

25 - Helped out a friend in the hospital and entertained her kids for the evening.

26 - HIIT, I have no idea what it stands for other than the toughest, butt kicking workout ever! (Turns out it stands for High Intensity Interval Training)

27 -  Wasn't sure if I could do my R.I.P.P.E.D to the Core today but did okay and felt great, phew!

28 - Took the kids to the mall for dinner, perfect night with them.

29 - Mr. is home and it's the weekend!!!!!

30 - Had a craving for onion rings, got some and was disappointed.

That's it for this month! So much fun, re-reading these that I've written. I was debating to add photos to each one of these, but realized I don't have one from each day...so figure, eh.

Now go check out the other ladies that did it this month. I hope to see some of you next month!

April in Numbers

Today I'm linking up with Deena for my month in numbers. If you want to see my previous months, click here.

11 - The number of years our red luggage lived. After Mr. got back from Vegas he deemed that foot long tear in the bottom a deal breaker...good bye red luggage that I bought for our Honeymoon at Macy's for $60 (it came in a set of three, the largest luggage broke).

9 - The number of nights either Mr. or I was traveling this month.

2 - The number of trips that this family took to Vegas, once for me and once for Mr.

1 - The number of ribbon bouquets I made at bridal showers. If you need a ribbon bouquet I'm your girl...I should give lessons, hehe.

8 - The number of allergy shots I got this month. I finally made it to maintenance mode, I should be at 4 next month, woo hoo! It used to be 32...so I'm happy with this number :)

Taking a picture at a downward angle...not cute!
2,250 - The number of miles I drove this month...roughly.

316 - The number of pictures I took at the Flower Fields. I think we got a few good ones, which is all I'm asking. I need something for the calendar!

13 - The number of times I worked out. I'm aiming to workout 4-5 days a week next month. There I said it on the blog, therefore I have to do it. Keep me honest people.

22 - The number of hair styles I did this month, woo hoo! My favorite one by far!

21 - Posts written in April, wow, so many posts! I think my favorite was the one about meeting some of my fellow Blended Bloggers. So much fun

25 - The number of selfies I took. Actually that's not totally true, I took more, just got lazy and didn't post every single one from Vegas, I mean we're bloggers, what else are we going to do? P.S. I was all done with this post and was going over March's numbers and realized, HOW COULD I FORGET THE SELFIES! So I added it for you. You're welcome I'm sure you wanted to know how many I took!

27 - Outfits I wore in April, two not pictures, because then the graphic would be off...

That's all I have this month. What was a number from your month?

Friday Favorites #67

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! Low key weekend coming up, and I'm really looking forward to having Mr. back home with us! I'm linking up with some of my favorite ladies here for my Friday Favorites.

In case you missed it on the blog this week:

Remember that giveaway I did to win this t-shirt?

Well the winners are:

Sarah T. (size M) // Sarah M (Size S) // Melanie S (Size XS)

I swear I used the random generator and it picked both Sarah's. Coincidentally all of these ladies I met through Baby Center when we are all pregnant with our 5 year olds...We created a small group from that HUGE few thousand people group, and narrowed it down to the coolest 44 people. Together the past 5+ years we've gone through so much, we've cried, laughed, supported and lifted each other up when we needed it most. I love them so much and am so happy to have them win!

All winners have been notified.

I missed last weeks recap of wear everything in my closet so today I have two weeks worth outfits. I did miss a few and I have no idea what happened...but I have 12 outfits for you...so that's something. Not sure how much longer I can go wearing things in my closet, I'm pretty much down to 1 million t-shirts and sweaters that are almost too warm to wear, but I'll keep going until I run out of options.

Now some random favorites.

You see that orange there on her lid? She wanted an orange like our friends iced tea...so she put it on her lid...she is so cute.

Went to get Chinese food for the first time since I discovered I can eat what I want, and there was a coy pond...if the kids had it their way they would have watched the fish and not eaten at all.

Love that they can now almost smile on command, my dreams are starting to come true!

They went to Spaghetti Factory for lunch and they sat on the train to eat...Mini Fox was NOT happy that they train was not going to take them off to some magical land.

They had Stella and Dot on Zulily the other day and you better believe I snatched some up at an great price! So excited to wear them!

How cute are these taco cookies? Let's have a fun cookie party shall we?

Would You Rather: Beauty Edition

Cara from Kindly Unspoken did this tag last week and I thought it was so fun. Here I go.

Would You Rather…

Wear only one eyeshadow color or only one lip color for the rest of your life?

Oh this is a hard one...I think I like playing around with eyeshadows too much, so I'm going to go with lip color...I think I would search heaven and earth for my signature lip color and then and only then would I wear that everyday.

Live without makeup or without nail polish?

Definitely without nail polish. My newfound love for make up is too new and too great to give up now! :)

Have dark nails or bright nails year round?

I'm a dark nail gal through and through. My dad HATES it with a capital H. He prefers bright reds and pinks. But my jam is Dark...although I do wear brights in the Spring and Summer just so I don't get the side eye from people. My favorite dark color?

Lincoln Park at Dark* by OPI, it's a super dark purple almost looks black, but has a hint of purple and then when you're in the sun it's this super gorgeous dark purple shade.

*I did buy these with my own money, but linked products are affiliates and I will receive a small commission if you click on it. Thank you for your support!

Leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?

Hmmm...that's a tough one. I'm going to go with overdone blush and then go to the movies, hehe. I'm so vain. But definitely over done blush, seems more forgivable than foundation line?

Have no eyebrows or sharpie drawn-ones?

Geez, these are all tough, although I guess the game is called would you rather this horrible thing or this horrible thing. I'm going to go with no eyebrows, you can always give yourself bangs to hind the fact that you don't have eyebrows right?

Go out with messy hair/nice makeup or nice hair/no makeup?

Definitely nice hair no make. With my hair challenge lately, I do this everyday at work :)

Have a bad haircut or bad hair color?

Since I don't color my hair I guess my default answer is bad haircut...as a matter of fact I got a pretty bad one last year...blunt cuts...not my thang...I need layers lady!

Be able to buy only drugstore makeup or only high end makeup?

Okay I'm a snob and have super sensitive skin, so I'm going to go with high end make up. Not that drug store doesn't have stuff for sensitive skin but ever since I started wearing make up I have always gravitated towards people telling me what to do, and where do you get that? At counters that sell high end stuff...

Spend $1,000 on clothes or makeup?

Hand down without a doubt clothes! I could do some real damage at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale coming up after 4th of July! Heck last year I did some real damage on my own.

So that's it, how would you answer these questions? Answer one of them in the comments down below or if you have a blog answer there and let me know! I'd love to hear how you answer.

Style Perspectives: A Plaid Look and Hair Challenge Week 17!

Hello Foxy Fashion Friends. Yet another week of the Style Perspectives with The Blended Blog! I am loving seeing everyone style the prompts and meeting new people through the link up! Keep 'em coming!

This week Alison is up with a plaid look, go check out how she style her signature look.

Summer Plaid look

Now onto the hair, I found a thing that can twist your hair at Target, so I had to try it. This was the result.
I thought it was different, but I'm thinking my hair might be too long to use it. I was watching a youtube video and she made it look so easy...it wasn't. This took me a good 20 minutes.

Twisted Hair

In case you missed it, we all styled Deena's signature look with a good 'ol graphic tee. Here's the recap.

We're on week 17 of the hair challenge. I feel like each week I'm getting a little better. Monday I talked about my favorite products I use in my hair if you are interested.

I forgot to take a front shot of this hair style when I did the back, that's why it's so dark #bathroomlighting

This was the newest  hair tutorial from Cute Girls Hair Styles.

Pull Thru ponytail

This was the style I was trying to do in Vegas, but totally failed, but then ended up with that cool braided bun, so it all worked out in the end. But I finally conquered it, woo hoo!

Pull Through Braid

Sunday just felt like a high pony tail kind of of day.

High Pony Tail

Monday, my hair was a wreck and I tried to do a messy bun...but it really just didn't work. I seriously have not conquered that stupid hair style. Everyone always makes it look so darn easy! It's not...I repeat it is not easy!

Nor is it easy to take a pictures of said bun with black hair...

This was like picture number 10, and I just started making faces because they all looked dumb. See I even showed you the dumb pictures I took, and you can't even see the hair.

That's it for this week! Did you do anything fun with your hair this week?

Next weeks prompt is: Leggings and a scarf! Start thinking of your outfits!
Now go check out how the other ladies styled their Plaid look.
