Scarf Accessory Is Back + Holiday Planning

Hello Foxy Friends! Now that the common threads challenge is over, I have a whole closet to play with, it's pretty fantastic after limiting myself to using 5 things...the weather is finally cooling off, so now we're in high 60's which means...I can break out the scarves! Before I did Alison from Get Your Pretty On's challenge (affiliate link), I wouldn't dare wear leopard, but now...bring it on!

Dress (similar) / Leopard Scarf (similar) / Boots (similar)

I love that just by adding a scarf, it makes the outfit seem so much more pulled together. I tried a necklace, but it just didn't do the same thing.

I bought these boots to go with an outfit for our Christmas cards 2 years ago...and then they sat in a box...for two years...yep, this is the first time I have worn them. We got our family pictures done, and then I had ankle surgery the very next day. For whatever reason they hadn't made it out of the box, until Sunday. It was slightly chilly, and I don't like wearing pants to church, so this was a great compromise.

I'm also linking up with Shay and Erica for Workin' It Wednesday, today's topic is planning for the holidays.

Now that the kids are getting older, I feel like planning fun things for them is a must. This year we are going to the Polar Express and the North Pole Experience. We are all so stinkin' excited!  Yes we're driving 10+ hours to get there, actually Siri says it's 8ish hours...but that's driving straight with no traffic and no stops, so let's go with 10+, wish us luck!

As far as planning goes, we always go to my cousins house for Thanksgiving, so I don't really have to worry about that, besides whatever side dish she wants us to bring. I always buy the kids matching Thanskgiving PJ's to wear after the turkey and pie has been eaten.

We also found out taking the kids to see Santa the day before Thanksgiving, yep that happens. No lines and we can pretty much take as many pictures as we want...score. Plus that way I can put that picture in our family calendar for the following year. Win-win.

That being said I also always getting matching PJ's for Christmas too. I used to buy them for the whole family, but I got too much grief from the Mr....maybe I'll spring it on him the night before Christmas, haha. Anyway, I got these to wear on the Polar Express, and these to wear to the cousin party. I actually bought 13 pairs of these for all of the little cousins to wear to The Cousin Party.

I'm going to ride that matching PJ's thing for as long as possible! Not sure how many more years I'm going to get out of them, now that Baby Fox doesn't like to sleep with a shirt and wears shorts...but at least he puts them on for pictures. I'm hoping with the weather getting slightly cooler, he'll start wearing pants, so at least the bottom half of them can match?

Apparently the only picture I took last year wearing their matching Pj's where they are in the same picture, oops!

I try to plan out my decorating too, I pretty much know where everything is going to go, so when we get everything out, everything has a place...at least that's the plan. Full confession, we're getting the Christmas tree out on Sunday because that's the only weekend until the second week of December to do it, and there isn't any way that this lady can handle a 12 foot Christmas tree on her own!

Last but not least, I plan for Baby Fox's birthday! I always make it special and have a special cake for him on his birthday (Christmas), so it makes it special. I never want him to feel like he gets overlooked because of Christmas. Although it does make it hard, when he wonders why the rest of his cousins can't come to Christmas/his Birthday party, since we host every year...

That's it, I always take on too much...making too many cookies, doing too many things, but you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way!

My New Obsession + Fitness Update

I think I have an obsession with this sweater. Seriously I wear it all the time. Perhaps I need it in more colors, so I'm not always wearing the same sweater? Loft, gotta hand it to you, it's the perfect length, weight, I love everything about it (sorry no longer available).

Fitness Update:

Another week gone...I'm beginning to think this diet might not be for me. In all honesty I just feel not satisfied with eating. Like I'm just eating to live and that's just no fun. But I am feeling pretty good, other then that. We'll see how I feel in a few more weeks. I think Mr. and I decided we're doing this until May 1st.

Half a pound lost. Mr. seems to think I'm getting more toned and my rib cage is slimmer, and I feel like my butt is really getting toned (which I'm sure makes Mr. happy, haha!) I think three weeks of something isn't enough time to really make a judgement. The first few weeks are probably when you're body is adjusting to whatever you're doing. Which is probably why a lot of people quite diets so early on into them. They aren't seeing the results. I wish I had taken measurements of everything, Oh well. I'll keep trudging alone.

Kid Pictures:

What's a post without some pictures of my kids?

Baby Fox showing off his hat he made in preschool. Love that smile.

Mini Fox with my Dad, they're doing "shhhhh, don't tell Mom I'm on a rock"

Picking a Dandelion

One of our neighbors commented on how she looks like a little doll, and I think I have to agree with them, especially with this outfit on.

Parent Initiation + A Really Cute Outfit

Another go to outfit, although it's starting to warm up around here, and the boots are getting a little too warm to wear, sorry all of you East Coasters. I really missed Winter here. Seriously we got 1 week of it, maybe 2 at the most. Yes 2 weeks of winter, and then it went back to being hot...boo!

Some Randoms

This is what our side yard looks like:

Mr. is so excited that the vine is arching over the fountain just the way he wanted it to. It smells divine out here.

Yes there is a cinder block behind the fountain, just in case it decides to fall backwards. The piece that holds it up got thrown away in the renovation. We improvised on the fly.
I think I've been initiated into parenthood. Guess what it is? Having two kids: not it, potty training a kid: not it, getting peed on: okay that is sort of one, getting kids to sleep through the night: not it...are you ready for what initiated me into real life parenthood? LICE! Yes I said that right. We got that call, the one we've always dreaded, or maybe not you, but I have. That someone at Baby Fox's school had lice! Ewww!! What did I do? I panicked and called my mom. LOL. Isn't it weird that you (okay...I) always call Mom to solve the problem...well my friends I am a Mom; there is this tiny human that is going to be calling me when things go wrong. Is it okay to just say, call Nana? Haha, just kidding. I know I'll be fine, just had to put that out there. Sorry got side tracked, then after the phone call...and we checked and everything turned out okay...I gave myself mental lice. Do you know what I mean? I kept thinking I had lice, even though we checked very thoroughly. I thought I was itchy when I wasn't. Mr. thought it was hilarious took a picture of me being nauratic.

I told you guys I would update you on my working out/dieting thing. Well I've only been doing it for a few days, so I won't report today. But I am going to tell you that Mr. asked me if I wanted to try out this diet/new way of eating. It's from a book called 4 hour body. It's a pretty amazing book with some awesome stuff in it. But the part we're doing, is literally 4 pages out of a 300+ book. Crazy right? When I figure it out a little more I'll fill ya in. But it's basically a fat burning diet. We'll see, all I know is that Saturday is our cheat day and I am so looking forward to it!

Except that I get a cheat day on Saturday and yes it's a mandatory cheat day...yes please!

Stripes and Leopard Oh My

What looks better than stripes and leopard? I'm not sure, but really loving this outfit. What I hate the most about this outfit, I can't wear it more than once a week. Boo!

I picked up this jacket during my Spring Style Challenge shopping spree. But it's been so hot here, this is the first time I've had a chance to wear it, crazy I know! It just sat in my closet taunting me, everyday, since it's the first thing in my closet.

Some randoms:

Yesterday morning, Baby Fox woke up 1.5 hours before normal and Mini Fox woke up a little early too, what better time than to snuggle and watch some tv? In matching jammies and blankies (her's is pink polka dot, his is blue polka dot) of course!

I could just kiss those cheeks off!

I guess one water wasn't enough, she needed one in each hand.

She was actually playing with this little pink castle last night, it was so cute.

After Mr. got home, some friends called and said they were headed to Chuck E. Cheese, I haven't been in 28 years? We get there, and are walking up to go in and we ask each other, is there a cover charge to get in (there were velvet ropes at the door)? How does this work? haha...we're so old. In case you didn't know, when you walk in you're stopped by a velvet rope to get a stamp, everyone in your family gets the same number stamp so when you leave they shine a black light over your arm to make sure all the numbers match. We appreciated that.

I didn't take a picture, but I made some turkey salad sandwiches and they were killer. Try it, you won't regret it.

Fall Style Challenge - Week 2

Hello, hello! Another week of the Fall Challenge behind us. I did skip Day 7 because we went to Legoland and well, I wasn't about to wear pants, long sleeve t, and a scarf to Legoland on a 73° day, hehe. If you want to see what I wore on Day 1 and 2, click here.

Week 2 of the Fall Challenge

Let's break it down:

Day 3

Okay so I can't really break this down for you, because as I was transferring data from my camera to my laptop, the computer battery died and lost all of my pictures, boo! So I only got this one, so no close ups. If you look closely though, I do have a Ladder Necklace on, and I thought it really made the outfit less "country" plus the ankle boots helped too.

Shirt - Wet Seal, Pants - Loft (curvy), Booties - Nordstroms, Necklace - Jane.com

Day 4

I'm sort of loving the fancy sweatshirt. I never would have picked this up in a million years, but it's super comfy yet looks nice and not sloppy. Because it has the lace detail I don't think it needs anything else, just by itself, perfect for taking care of tiny humans (bonus points if you know where that is from).

Pants - Loft (old), Fancy Sweatshirt - Loft, Leopard Flats - DSW (old)

Day 5

Okay I admit that I put this one, took the pictures and then changed into shorts and a tank top. I was literally sweating taking this picture. It called for a cardigan, and I think if I were going out at night, I could add it, but during the day it was just too much. You can't tell, but the jeans I'm wearing are grey.

Grey Jeans - Loft, Shirt - Target, Scarf - Target (looks like it's no longer available online, but I saw one in my local Target recently), Booties - Nordstroms

Day 6

This was the perfect Saturday running errands outfit. I was super comfortable but looked put together.

Yep, no make-up and all, that's how I run errands.

Day 7

Legoland!

Super comfy shorts, t-shirt, simple necklace, and some converse look a likes.

Day 8

I think this one is my favorite out of the week. I honestly didn't think I'd like the plaid shirt, thought it would make me feel too country, but I didn't, and that was a pleasant surprise.

Shirt - Wet Seal, Boyfriend Jeans - Old Navy, Military Jacket - Nordstroms (old), Booties - Target

Day 9

Again with the simple fancy sweatshirt, I think I need more fancy sweatshirts!

Black Jeans - Loft, Fancy Sweatshirt - Loft, Leopard Flats - DSW, Fox Ring - Francesca's Collection (old)

I tried on different necklaces, but nothing looked right against the lace, so I went with a nice fox ring, appropriate right?

I'm linking up with some fellow Fall Challengers, so take a peek at what they put together. It's so awesome to see people's different takes on the same outfit.
