Mother In Law Brought the Rain with Her

Another weekend come and gone, it went too fast! Doesn't it always? Mr.'s Mom came for a really quick visit, it was nice to see her. We haven't seen her since May, so it's been a while.

This is Thursday night while getting ready for dinner, Mini Fox wanted at the table, but the chair was pushed in. She thought this would work...then quickly realized...

That when she went to sit up, it didn't work.

She she just laid back down...then got off.

Friday night after dinner I said, hey we haven't gotten all of us in a picture recently, this is what I got.

close enough, we're all there

Mr. was playing "horse" with his legs, the kids loved it.

That's not drool, she's messy with her cups.

Saturday morning, cartoons and snuggles. Mama's head is the perfect pillow apparently.

Followed some pancakes

The kids ate all of these...we were shocked!

Mr. and Baby Fox went to pick up Grandma from the airport. She must have brought the rain with her from Seattle, because it rained the entire time she was here...so we really didn't do much, just stayed at home and ate. Lol, what else was there to do?

Baby Fox did convinced Grandma to take him to Yogurtland.

That little girl in the back with the green shirt on, had the cutest furry boots on, I wanted to steal them off her feet!

While the kids napped, Grandma and I went and got our nails done, it was so nice, I haven't done that in a long time.

We got matching nail colors, but I forgot to take a picture of that.

Saturday night Grandma's sister met up with us for some dinner.

Baby Fox did not want his picture taken. Also I need longer arms.

Sunday morning, Starbucks run, we don't own a coffee maker, crazy right?

cute girl

Grandma bought the kids the Little People Klip Klop Princess Stable so we broke that out and was playing with it all day. Baby Fox decided that the 5 princesses were his "kids". He took the castle on the left (part of a different toy), and that was his carrying case for the "kids.

Baby Fox decided that he was going on day vacation...he's all packed up and ready to go.

And then told Mr. to watch the "kids" and to wake them up at 1 to give them a bath (he even gave Mr. a bath tub)

In case you wanted to know, Baby Fox got "home" before the "kids" woke up
The best thing happened yesterday too, okay maybe not the best thing, but it was a nice surprise, I was going through the freezer trying to find some pork tenderloin, but instead of that I found some ribs, so we got ribs for dinner. Yay for good surprises! Mr. took his mom back to the airport during naptime, yep it was a quick trip.

We ended the night with some hallway running.

How was your weekend? Friday is my day off, looking forward to a 3 day weekend!

From My Closet: Something Old, New, Borrowed, Blue

Hey all, Happy Friday! First week back after break and we made it! What better way then to celebrate with friends. A few of us from the Style Challenge decided we didn't want the fun to end, so we're bringing you Style Me Bloggers Link up for the next 4 months, join us won't you?! This week we're talking about things in our closet: something old, something new, something borrowed, something in the shade of blue and just because something from my wedding.

Something Borrowed

This might be weird, but my friend actually borrowed my wedding dress. Yep that's right, she was doing a traditional Chinese wedding, and wanted a Chinese dress along with a traditional dress, so she asked to borrow my wedding dress, I think she looked fantastic! And I'm so happy that my dress got to make more then one person incredibly happy. It deserved it, I loved that dress so much!

My friend and her new husband...and guess who married them? Mr!

Something New

This is what Mr. got me for Christmas. My old leather jacket was from high school...I just recently gave it to my mom.

Love the quilted detailing on the back.

I threw it on last night to show you, sorry about looking like a mess. The kids were actually running around naked waiting for their bath, lol. Life of a mommy blogger right? But I'm so excited to start styling this jacket and I think I'll have it for years to come.

Something Blue

Love this blue tunic in my closet, I think it's the zipper detail that I love the most. Side note: it really does unzip and then it's just a weird off the shoulders thing, I wouldn't advise it.

Something Old

I think this is the oldest thing in my closet. It's from 10th grade...that's 20 years ago my friends..wait just I just really date myself...yikes! I sound old. Anyway, I needed a wind ensemble dress (Did I ever tell you guys before I was in band and played the trombone? That's for another day and another story) and my dad took me dress shopping, we went to Windsors Fashion...and we got this dress for a steal! I think it was under $20! Mark down on top of mark down on top of mark down...we ran out of there thinking they would take it back! And yes my Dad took me shopping, not sure why, but for some reason it was his duty to help find me a black wind ensemble dress. I always had good luck finding stuff when he was with me. I should take him shopping more often, lol.

Slutty back right? I can't believe my dad let me get this! I wore this for the next three years of performances. I wish I had pictures...but I could only find one.

I guess taking pictures while at a concert was too hard. I wore it to a winter formal one year. My hair looks funny here, but in real life it was super pretty. I think my hair is just so black that everything just blends together and you can't see any lines that it was creating.

Yep I had full on bangs in high school...dork city!

Something From Our Wedding

Since we're celebrating our 10 year anniversary this year, I thought I would share something that is still in my closet from our rehearsal dinner...I'm realizing I don't ever let anything go, that's probably why my closet looks like this. Again wasn't even shopping for a rehearsal dress, I think we were just out Christmas shopping and guess who was there? Dad, he really is good luck. I fell in love with this dress right when I saw it. The beading detail, I think that's what got me.

Don't know what I would do without these ladies in my life. I met them both in college freshman year.

Now go check out the other ladies and what they found in their closets.

Week 4 of the Winter Style Challenge

We skipped posting this last week and I don't think anyone else is posting their outfits, but here mine are, the last week of the Style Me Challenge: Winter Edition.  If you want to see the other challenges, here they are Spring Style ChallengeSummer Style Challenge and the Fall Style Challenge.

Here is week 1, week 2, and week 3of the Winter Challenge. And finally week 4.

Looking at these picture, apparently I really like putting both hands on my hips, must change that, LOL. Anyways, here's the break down for ya!

Day 17

I love this scarf, but no matter how many times I adjust, it just never lays the way I want it to. I tried so many times to get it just right, but in the end, it did what it wanted, oh well! This sweater is the most comfortable thing you'll ever wear, you need to get it, seriously! They have it in black too!

Long Sleeve Tee - Target, Jeans - Loft (Old), Boots - Macy's, Sweater - White House Black Market, Scarf - Target

I had to laugh when I saw this picture, I think I was getting ready for the picture and I must have pushed the shutter on the remote without realizing it? I think I was tossing my hair over my shoulder...but it looks like I'm snapping my fingers, which is funny because I don't know how to snap.
See the remote in my other hand? haha..

Day 18

I probably never would have put these pants with wedge boots, I'm not sure why, but I really like this outfit. It's simple and looks put together. I think I need to add a scarf or statement necklace, but overall I liked this outfit.

Long Sleeve Tee- Target, Pants - Old Navy (old), Sweater - White House Black Market, Wedges - Target (old)

Day 19

This outfit wasn't my favorite. I like the tunic and the scarf, and I like the pants, but not sure how I feel about them together. I feel like it makes me look bulky...did that make sense?

Tunic - Nordstorms (old), Jeans - Loft (old), Black Heels - Cathy Jean (old), Scarf - Nordstroms (sold out)

Day 20

Time for some dressy outfits. I would have never in a million years thought of a plaid shirt as being fancy. But I love this outfit! The patterned tights, takes this outfit up a notch.

Plaid Shirt - Wet Seal (sold out), Skirt - Nordstroms (old), Tights - Target (old), Heels - Cathy Jean (old)

Day 21

Sweater - White House Black Market (old), Pants - Loft (old), Heels - Cathy Jean (old)

All in all I think I did a pretty good job shopping my closet. The only thing I bought was that fur scarf, that thing is so soft and comfy! And at $12 who can beat that?! Other then that everything else was already in my closet. I am so proud of myself for not going over board like I usually do. I finally have a good wardrobe, now it's all about maintenance.  But a few things here and there. I think this year is going to be the year of make-up. Trying out what works best for me...wish me luck!
