Friday Favorites #2

Happy Friday Foxy Friends! Today is my day off, woo hoo! For those that don't know, I get every other Friday off. Big plans to get my knives sharpened. I try to get my knives sharpened every 1.5-2 years. If you haven't gotten yours sharpened, you should! It makes a huge difference. Although I have to ban Mr. from using said knives for a bit when they are freshly sharpened. He tends to pick the big chefs knife to cut strawberries, lol. Anyway, let's get to my Favorites this week.

Nothing like a little morning Fairy Garden play time to get your day started.

Halloween PJ's and all.

Last night the kids decided that they wanted to build a fort, with the help of Mr. this is what showed up in my bedroom. It's pretty epic, actually. They want to sleep in it this weekend. So I guess Mr. and I are sleeping in the guest bedroom, as I am waking up pretty early this weekend to go workout.

A reading nook.

And even a light up sign that says Kids Fort. It's the cutest thing ever.

Made 3 loaves of bread this week and some English muffins. This is what the English muffins look like before you shape them.

They are surprisingly easy to make. Even easier than a sourdough loaf of bread. And they are oh so good.

Remember this jacket from my post on Wednesday? Well the website is having 20% off the whole website, you best believe I bought the jacket in white. This is me jumping for joy at getting another jacket, that I don't really need, but want.

A few IG friends are starting a new series called Style Across the States. Each week we pick a piece of clothing to style and then style it. Super simple, then we post to IG. This week is a denim shirt. Funny enough I only have 1 denim shirt. I used to have a couple, but realized I NEVER used them so gave most of them away. Except this sleeveless one. Once I get more info, it is in the beginning stages, I'll let you know so you can join in on the fun too!

Happy Friday! Hope you have a great weekend, see you sometimes next week!

Belong Lifestyle Denim Dress

Hi Foxy Friends. Guess what? I'm collaborating with Belong Lifestyle and they named a dress after me! It's called the Sarah California Dreaming Denim Dress. I have seriously been looking for the perfect denim dress for the LONGEST TIME. I think I have tried to buy no less than 8 denim dresses, and all of them have gone back. This one is PERFECT! I love that it has the tie waist that you can cinch to give it a little structure.

This dress is going to be perfect to transition to Winter too, at least my California winter. Add some tights and boots and you got a completely different outfit. Then it transition back to Spring with some cute flats.

Fall Challenge - Final Outfits

Last week of Alison's Style Challenge* 5 more outfits coming at ya. I got a lot of good ideas from this round of the style challenge. Happy that I decided to participate in it, I wasn't going to, but I couldn't resist! So let's get to it.

Day 17

This outfit called for a grey cable sweater over the whole thing, but I don't have one and it's WAY too hot to wear one, even during the winter months here, so I added a leopard belt to tie it together.

Day 18

This outfit called for an orange sweater and I remembered that I had an orange-ish cardigan, so I opted to put a white tank under it with my oversized plaid scarf. I tried to wear it two ways, which do you like best? I think I like it the first way better, with the little triangle.

Day 19

This outfit called for a printed blouse, so I used my polka dot one and then added this cute cardigan. I think I added the cardigan because without the outfit looked pretty boring.

 Day 20

My favorite dress*! Styled yet another way...I think this might be my favorite outfit of the whole Fall Challenge. Loving the big belt and the boots, now come on weather get cold so I can wear this!

Day 21

I bought this jacket last season on mega-sale at Target...I haven't worn it yet, but I'm loving this jacket with the pants. Such a great combo! I think it would have looked better with some leopard wedges instead, but it was still a very comfy, put together outfit.

Sorry all the pictures are a bit blurry, I don't know what happened, they all seemed to be in focus when I took the pictures...I really hate when that happens, don't you? Boo! Did you participate in the Fall Challenge? What was your favorite outfit that you wore?

Unexpected Results

You know I saw this outfit on someone's blog, and knew that I had to try it. And of course for the life of me I can't remember who's blog it was and of course I didn't pin it, darn! I did however tell that person I was going to try it. If I figure it out, I'll post it back. If it's you that had that outfit, let me know so I can give you a shout out!

When I came downstairs in this outfit, Mr. said...um, I'm not so sure about this one. But after he started to take the pictures, I think he came around. I absolutely love it, too bad it's getting way too hot to wear something this warm. But definitely on my list to wear if I go out for an evening with friends and it's slightly cooler than. Translation: anything lower than 70°.

Unexpected #1: I loved this outfit WAY more then I thought I would, and I think it might be the necklace pushing this outfit into the love category for me.

I think the necklace really gives it that punch that it needed. When I put the outfit on by itself it was just okay, but add the statement necklace and it punches it up a notch.

Wednesday fitness update:

I don't have much to update, since we were in Tahoe this past weekend, the diet sort of went out the window. Harder to eat the Slow Carb way with 10 other people around. That being said I was eating carbs like no other, specifically the chocolate chip cookies I baked before leaving. Boy were they yummy. And you know what I learned?

Okay this part is TMI, so skip down to the next paragraph if you don't want to know. But when I was eating all the carbs and fruits and stuff, it really stopped me up! I had no idea, I've always had issues, but didn't realize cutting out the carbs and sugars would seriously help me in that area. Thank you Slow Carb!

Okay back to regular talk, I also figured out with all the extra carbs that I felt super bloated. Like really bloated, I don't like that feeling. And thinking back I used to feel really bloated all the time, but just thought that was normal. Nope, not normal (for me at least).

We're in week 4ish, and so far so good. I sometimes am left feeling unsatisfied with what I ate, but that's okay, as long as I get my cheat day there is something to look forward to!

Not sure what I'm going to do for my cheat day this week...what to eat, what to eat. Going on a hike this Saturday, so for sure I'll probably stop at the bagel shop on the way home. Yum! Carb it up after the hikes, always helps.

Unexpected #2: Little to no carbs a week really helps my digestion...who knew!

What is unexpected in your life?

Something I've Wanted to Try + Fitness Update

So I've always wanted to wear one of my maxi's with a shirt over it. But all of my maxi's and shirts never seemed to look good. Then I thought, hey what about my denim shirt...that might work, and low and behold I loved it! I thought it needed some sort of statement necklace, so I pulled this out from my brothers wedding, added some ankle boots and bam, I got me a new outfit. In case you were wondering this is the dress I wore for our family photoshoot.

I always try jumping shots, but using a remote and being by myself, didn't really work, but I thought I would show you how funny it turned out...remember to smile while jumping, it's harder than you think.

Onto my heathy/fit initiative:

I have lost about 2 pounds. Woo hoo! We'll see how this week goes. I didn't work out yesterday because I think I might be getting another sinus thing...so annoying. One a month is NOT okay. I think I might actually have to go to the doctors. Boo. We'll see how the rest of the week goes.

Saturday I woke up at 5:30am to go hiking, I know who am I? It was crazy early, but so much fun.

And so pretty. I didn't walk nearly as fast as the other people, so I spent a good chunk of time by myself, and it was great to just be.

I am seriously so lucky where I live. I couldn't live in a better place!
Tonight is R.I.P.P.E.D, and tomorrow is probably a T25 workout. I won't have time Friday or the weekend because we're and when I say we're I really mean I'm because I'm getting away with some friends! I'm so excited I can hardly contain it.

So the diet, it's called the Slow Carb Diet (a way to lose specifically fat), this guy has a great website on it. Anyway by Friday I was just angry...I didn't pack enough food for work, so I was just hungry, all the time. Which you're not supposed to be at all, if you're eating enough protein. So this week, I've ramped up the protein and so far so good. No angry wife/mama here. So far, but we'll see when Friday rolls around again, haha.

I'll report back next week with my results from Saturday. Thinking those first two pounds were probably water weight, but we'll see. Summer here I come! I might actually buy a new bathing suit, something I haven't done in 7 years...well I did buy a speedo one-piece to wear to swim lessons with the kids. My bikini's are not meant to swim in, lol. I spent more time making sure I didn't pop out then enjoying the lesson, LOL.

Denim on Denim

Now that I am done for the time being doing Alison's Style Challenge . I need some style motivation rather then going back to my old ways, okay not old, old ways, but wearing the same thing over and over again. So I'm taking a page out of the Sheaffer, Shay, and Mel handbook and I'm going to get Pin-spired.

This is what I found, I thought I have similar things in my closet, I can do this, and it's super cute too.

Source

I don't have black skinny jeans, but I do have some really dark wash skinny jeans. They'll have to do. For work I added a black blazer and I have to say, it looks great with a black blazer as well! I'm absolutely loving this outfit and I never would have put it together, I'm scared of denim on denim...but no more...

Yep this was taking on Sunday and there are flowers blooming back there. We had about 1 week of cold weather and it's back up to the mid 70°

Here are some random pictures I found on my phone:

I convinced Mr. to go to a workout class with me. I was so happy to have in class with me. So much better working out with someone then by yourself. Proof that he actually took a class.

This was from our play date on Friday, but somehow I missed it, but she thought she could get in the walker by herself...turns out not.

The last couple of days Baby Fox said that he never gets to feed Mini Fox, so the last two days he has, and I'm pretty sure my heart melted into a puddle of goo when I saw these pictures.

I told the kids to clean up their mess (you can't even see the floor), and instead they threw all the toys out of the toy chest and got in. Silly kids!
