3 Things: May

Hi Foxy Friends. I had every intention on doing joining in on this prompt, but didn't. I'm in a blogging rut, ever been there? I have all these ideas, but have so many things on my plate that it's hard to find time to do it all. So blogging takes a back seat...but I guess better later than never right? So thanks Laura for hosting! Here are the prompts.

1. So if you know me at all, I don't do plants, I don't garden. All gardens everywhere hide and cower when they see me coming. One year Mr. planted some of those blubs from Costco and magically they keep coming back each year, three years and counting.

Plus we have a bunch of roses that I'm sure are older than dirt, they have been through so much, but they keep coming back gorgeous as ever. These are all in our front yard.

2. We usually kick off summer with a Memorial Day party. Last year we went to someone's house instead of doing it at our house, I'm pretty sure that's what we're doing again. All these kids, do dang cute, love that they all get along too. Perfect for the parents to socialize and not have to constantly referee arguments.

3.  Let's talk mom for a bit. She is awesome and I'm lucky that she was able to stay home to take care of us kids growing up. She loves the kids something fierce and comes up with the cutest crafts to do with them. She did a darling Mother's Day craft with them for me. I am so happy that the kids are able to have a relationship with her because she and Dad decided to move closer to us. So thankful everyday for getting to see them weekly. She's a great shopper, you all know my love for shopping, I get it 100% from her, haha. Put us in a mall together and we're in trouble! Love you Mom!

Since I have a black thumb, what are you all growing in your gardens this season?

Weekly Favorites #15

Hi Foxy Friends! Hope you are having a great week. So thankful it's Friday, so much to do between when I am writing this post and tomorrow at work. But I got this, I can do it. We're moving offices next week, so I need to pack up all my stuff...that should be fun. Anyway, onto fun things from this week.

Friday I really wanted ice cream, but told the kids I was taking them to Costco and if they were good I would take them to get McDonald's ice cream cones...I get credit for being the good Mom and I get ice cream, win-win. Also Mr. came home after a week away, that was nice.

Saturday was full of baseball.

And then we had our baseball fundraiser, they do a poker night, which was super fun. Guys played poker and the ladies chatted and caught up. Pre-party at a friends house.

They did a really great job stringing the lights from the trees. This was the final table of poker. The person who won donated  his winnings back to the Little League, pretty awesome of him.

Ladies having fun.

It was a great night and they raised $10K, not too shabby for a Saturday evening.

Sunday we woke up bright and early, okay not really, but we woke up and got ready to drive to my cousin's daughters 1st Holy Communion. Luckily it was at 11 and it's about 100 miles away, so we didn't have to leave too early to get there on time. The church, the same church that Mr. and I got married in, did a great job. It was a beautiful mass.

These three cousins all got their 1st Holy Communion the past couple of weeks, so proud of them all.

Party, hard getting that many kids to look at the camera at the same time.

Some randoms...Tuesday, this was the line to sign my kid up for summer camp. I got there 15 minutes early, they started 30 minutes earlier than they had said, much better than last year, phew!

Wednesday, Mr. texts me this as I'm at training for the PTA (yep you have to get training, who knew), I think I have a problem.

This girl saw these flowers on the way to Baby Fox's baseball practice and wanted to take a picture, she's so dang cute. She posed herself.

Kids had their half yearly dentist check up...they both did great, no cavities.

He got X-rays.

His teeth cleaned

And then had to get a Pano (is that how it's spelled?) done

This was the pano...crazy how many teeth you can see in there! Where are they all going to fit?!

On our way out, the front office gave me this rose and said Happy Mother's Day. So darn sweet of them, I might have to always make an appointment for Mother's Day week from now on. Made my whole day.

In case you missed it on the blog this week:

Monday: What I've been buying
Tuesday: Sentence A Day
Wednesday: Go To Summer Outfit
Thursday: Tea Subscription Box

What are you guys doing this weekend? We're finally seeing End Game...have you seen it yet? No spoilers! There was someone on my FB feed that insisted that if you wanted to see it you should have and that spoilers were okay...I muted him for 30 days, not cool man! We can't all just jump to see a movie first weekend it's out. Anyway, have a great weekend and to all the mom's out there. Happy Mother's Day! I hope you get spoiled rotten!

Tea Time (featuring Mr.)

Hi Foxy Friends! Sips by reached out to me last month and asked if I would review their tea box subscription. I told them that I don't drink tea, but Mr. drinks it daily and would love to review it for them. He was so stinkin' excited when I told him about it, like waited by the mailbox kind of excited. I told him he could drink any till he took pictures, he gave me a look, but complied, then took these awesome pictures. Funny enough, the last time Mr. guest posted, he also did a drink review. It was hilarious, you should go read his experience drinking his first ever Pumpkin Spice Latte.  Okay so take it away Mr.

OK!
Mr. here.
I am "stinkin' excited".

I am an enthusiast of all manner of caffeine delivery systems including tea (I also have a hoarder's amount of coffee K-cups, but that is a topic for another day).

On to Sips by:

The first step in the Sips by process is to fill out a flavor profile:

  • Caffeine = yes
  • Black tea = yes
  • Random funky stuff = yes
  • Green tea = hard pass

After I filled that out, this Sips by box arrived on my doorstep:

The box features a lid which can be opened:

Inside is a magical assortment of teas (no, they do not automatically pop up like this... that was all me):

A closer look at the teas... The Sips by people were listening, because I got an array of teas that hold up to having some cream added (that's my jam) and also they sent me mostly caffeinated stuff:

So let's see what's up. First is Harney and Sons Organic Assam in a single silken sachet. Is it really silken, I thought as I opened it... yep. The darn thing is silken. Good tea time must be ahead...

This is what it looks like after you make tea:

I always double up the bags and make an XL cup. This one was a winner. Nice flavor. You don't want to leave this bad boy in there steeping too long... about 7 minutes was right for me. If you get distracted by an injured child or other life event, it can go bitter on you. Don't let that happen. The kid will be fine.

Next up is Dandelion Red Chai, decaf edition. Also has chicory. Had to look that one up... then I lost interest in looking it up and got back to making tea.

Dandelion and chicory... that's a man's tea right there:

This is still what it looks like after you make tea... notice the subtle differences between the Assam and the Dandelion*

*For real? It's the same picture.

I have to admit. I wasn't expecting much from this one, but it was really good. It's tough to find a decaf tea that will hold up to having some milk added. This one did. It's a nice night-time option. Whatever chicory is (still haven't read the Wikipedia) it's a good thing they put it in there because I don't think the dandelion would have gotten the job done by itself.

So... Sips by. Overall really good! If you like tea and like trying new things, I recommend it. I've bought random funky teas in the past and they are expensive... especially if you wind up not liking something and then you're stuck with a bunch of tea you don't like. This is a great way to try out a bunch of new things and they bring it right to your doorstep. I like that.

Sarah here, if you want to try it out for yourself or give it to someone as a gift, use code FOXY5 for $5 off your first order! I know you're going to love it as much as Mr. does.

Summer Go To Outfit

Hi Foxy Friends! Today I am linking up with Shay and Erica for their Let's Look At series, see all previous posts here. So let's get to it.

Summer is coming, and I pretty much have a summer go to outfit, shorts and a tee, no one has time for layers it's too hot. So I add some sort of statement necklace and call it a day.

Shorts / Tee (similar) / Sandals (similar)

Pretty much loving this shirt because ruffles. They are so subtle but add so much to a regular tee. I'm all about adding a little bit of something extra to make something ordinary a little more extraordinary.  Add a statement necklace or a long tassel necklace and call it a day.

Loving this lipstick too. My mom loves it too, so I'm giving her one for Mother's day, hopefully she doesn't read this before then! If you are mom, act surprised.

Primer / Foundation  Blemish Concealer / Concealer (cause one can never have too much) / Lashes  / Eyebrow Tint / Blush / Bronzer / Eyeshadow / Lip Pencil

So many outtakes, was a little cold and delirious, so you get this picture too. I was trying to get a shot of my eyelashes, but it wasn't working, so you get this instead.

So what is your go to outfit for summer?

I also really like these tee's they are super lightweight and I have them in every color. Currently they are buy 2 for $38...so I guess I need to go get some more...

Let's Look At...
