New Friends

I have been posting outfits for the past who-knows-how-long, actually I could figure it out, I'm just too lazy to do it. This is what I've been wearing...and old pair of workout pants that I've cut off one of the legs to fit my cast and then comfy clothes...

Last night I actually got dressed up and went to dinner with friends, but of course forgot to take an outfit post when I got home...This is actually what I wore:

But I finally got to add my coat that I bought at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale in July of 2014!!!

Yes it's blurry, yes they really are that much taller than me, yes the girl in the middle is slouching. Good news on the coat, they have one very similar* on sale! Only $34, but it says sale ends today! It's super warm, and soft, great peacoat in my opinion. So glad that I got to take it out on it's debut outing, even if it was just 54° out.

Anyway, today is one of those days where I went to write a blog post and came up completely empty so I went to pinterest to find a quote...this one spoke to me. I am not a writer...hence why I'm an engineer and use words like hence in a sentence twice. I don't have eloquent words flowing out of me...so I figure take this quote how you see fit in your life.

via
Right now in my life, this quote feels like it applies to friends. I have been having issues finding friends in my mom life. I feel like it's so hard to find them once you leave college. We moved out here with a really good friend and her husband,  I don't know what happened but now we rarely talk...anyway...after we stopped hanging out as much, I really thought there are other people in my life that I really love spending time with, so I made an effort to hang out with them, text , call and really get to know them. I am so happy that I went out of my comfort zone and "took another shot" at making friends. You are never too old to make new close friends and make new memories with great people, who I wouldn't have probably gotten to know so well had that negative thing in my life happened. Do I miss that person? Yes terribly, but until she's ready to get over her issues, I'll be here with open arms, but won't be dwelling any more or letting the negative things affect my life.

Wow that got a little more serious than I thought, based off a random quote I found, and probably doesn't make sense to you, but hey, I feel better. So thanks for listening/reading my random rant of the day!

Happy Hump Day Peeps! I have 5 more days of this pink cast of mine! Woo hoo! At least I hope, I really hope I'm not that person that they say...oh so sorry, you're in it for another week...NOOOOO!!!! No that won't happen, it can't happen, Mama has Christmas shopping to do!

Boo!!!

I had an awesome hike video all ready to go and was uploading to youtube then I had to leave for work, so I was just going to put in my post when I got to work, and guess what? It never finished, I guess the computer locked or something happened, because the video never finished uploading...so instead I'm going to give you some random pictures that were taken mid week, and never got put in a post. So here ya go, a nice photo dump for you.

Love sleeping baby pictures

 Running hard!

2 seconds after I took this picture, he stops and starts to pant and says, I just can't go any further.
A girl and her truck and blankie

Girl already knows how to walk in wedges...

And is pretty good at it too.

This picture makes me laugh every time... I might have used it for her 2nd birthday invitation :)

She has Mr.'s tongue, in case you were wonder, which you probably weren't and now it's TMI
I see you...

and I have a giveaway starting at tonight! Come back for the chance to win a $500 Amazon Giftcard! Who couldn't use one of those?!

My LBD and some Randoms

I wish I had gotten better pictures before leaving for my night out on Saturday. But I didn't so...moving on. Why do I look so short?! Anyway, besides all of that, I love this dress, it's so fun and a great little black dress to own. My mom found it at Nordstroms Rack.

Why does my head look so big?

Hey I actually look normal here, although I've taken the windy through my hair to the extreme. Okay maybe it's not me, it's the weather.

Some randoms:

  • I think I'm getting sick, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, please say it isn't so. Now I'm not sure if I should go to the gym tonight, but I know me, I probably will and then spend the next three days getting over the fact that I pushed my body to far. Gotta get my workout in, gotta get R.I.P.P.E.D.

  • My allergy shots are ready...I'm scared to start, mostly because it's such a time commitment...yikes! But at least there is an end in sight...like 6-7 months from now.

  • This girl loves her some princess clothes. She's all about Princess this and princess that. Monday my parents bought her a Sofia the First dress, she immediately put it on and then stood on this box and started twirling...if that doesn't say girl, I don't know what would!

No princess would be complete without some pink monster teeth right?

Come back tomorrow to see our Saturday Vlog and maybe half a video on how to do my make up (I started filming it and ran out of disk space, oops! I have since bought a 32GB disk at Costco, should never happen again, EVER. I hope).

My New Go To Outfit

I've jumped on the jean jacket trend. I've fully embraced it and I'm going with it. It's my new go to, finish an outfit by adding a jean jacket. This dress would be so plain without the jean jacket. I do think that I want to get a cropped jean jacket though, that would probably have looked a little better with this outfit.

Yesterday was super hot, 94°, I wore it to work, but once I got home I immediately changed into shorts and a tank top (my not at work, I'm finally home outfit).

Some Random Stuff:

  • I hate when I'm an emotional wreck, like you know your being totally unreasonable but you're crying anyway, sometimes you just gotta go with the flow, and hope that everyone in your path understands and still loves you. Luckily Mr. knew and just stayed out of my way till he left for choir practice. When he got home I was back to my normal happy self.

  • We introduced Mini Fox to some food last week, specifically oatmeal. She likes chewing on the spoon, but each night she gets a little better and eats a few more spoonfuls. Hey we'll take it, the last two nights she's slept for 8 hours, when I woke her up to feed her when I left for work. yay!

  •  Last night Baby Fox wanted to hold Mini Fox, Mr. tells me that Baby Fox put Mini Fox on his chest just like this so she could watch tv with him. Love that they love each other and just want to be near each other all the time.

Wednesday Randoms

I'm awake, yes it's 8:45am, but I'm awake. I've been awake since 6:30am, not cool. Okay it is cool that Mini Fox slept from 12:30 to 6:30am, but then took an hour to fall back asleep, at which time I thought...hell with it, might as well get up. And now all I can think about...when is naptime? Good thing she's doing this right now:

This picture was taken on Sunday, this is not her sleeping right now.
I have a shopping addiction, I've gone to the mall three days in a row...yes THREE, no wait, I'm going back to day so make that 4! I have a problem, I've been to Old Navy three times, Gymboree 6 times, no joke (long story short, I worked the system and saved $50 in a round about way, hence the 6 trips.) Mr. gets an extra paycheck this month and you better believe I am spending it as we speak. Mini Fox has proven to be a good shopping partner.

I did, however, find our outfits for our Christmas card, which we're taking pictures Thanksgiving weekend, I was stressed to the max, but I figured it out and it's all going to work out. I have faith. The whole outfit is based around this baby. I'll give you a clue, I spent more money on the kids outfits then ours. Go figure.

And just cause we can...chubby bunny :) remember doing that as a kid?

Don't worry, we did it with Baby Fox too :) He didn't have quite as much cheek to work with though.

and that's all I have for this random Wednesday!

Real Outfit Pregnancy Post

Did you know it's sort of hard to find a maternity dress for a petite 5'3" gal? Well it is. I've been trying to find things that I can possibly wear after pregnancy too, so when I came across this dress at Nordstroms I had to jump on it. I might have bought it in two different styles and two different sizes and had them shipped to me so that I wouldn't miss out on this great deal!

The best part of this dress it? It's one of those convertible dresses, so I can make all sort of styles depending on my mood, and it feels like I'm wearing pajamas, win in my book!

24 Weeks and 5 Days Pregnant

Dress - Nordstrom's (Watch the video and how many ways you can wear this dress, I chose strapless), Shoes - Nordstrom's (these are those famous shoes that this girl keeps talking about, I wore them all day 6 months pregnant, if I thought they were that comfy, you need to go get them right now!), Sweater - Old Navy (old)

Necklace from Forever 21 (old), Mr. wanted me to give him full credit for buying this for me for my birthday last year, without my input or help.

And of course my little photo bomber. He insisted on being in the picture, and then after two shots he got bored and left.

See those wrinkles there on the bottom, this is because I had been sitting in Mr.'s little sports car for over 2 hours trying to get home...ugh, I hate LA traffic!
A few random facts about Baby Fox's eating habits:

He likes warm prune juice and warm milk and will not drink either cold.

Likes oatmeal cold. Yep we started putting brown sugar in it and he likes it cold, so we basically stir the oatmeal with milk add some brown sugar and serve cold...yum?

Last night we can add another random thing he likes cold...rice. Yep we had some left over rice from dinner the other night and he wanted it cold...hard, cold rice, sounds delish...he ate it all up with no problems what-so-ever.

Such a weirdo, but I love him anyway.

Hair Cut

Someone got a haircut yesterday. Our nanny also cuts hair...what doesn't she do? Anyway, she said that she was using the buzz cut thingy, and he moved and well there went part of his hair, so almost shaved it is. But it's super cute, and makes him look more like a little boy instead of my baby, boo hoo!

Some Random Things:

Colton has this blankie and is seriously attached to it (seen just behind him, has dots on one side and solid on the other). Monday I had to wash it and I had to nearly tear it out of his hands to get it in the wash. As soon as it was done in the dryer, I told him let's go get blankie from the dryer, he screams out "I So HAPPY!!!" and goes running towards the dryer. We've learned to NEVER leave it at home while going anywhere, it's meltdown city. Good thing we've taught him blankie stays in the car. But everytime we get back to the car, he acts like he hasn't seen it for days, not just minutes. He says, "Oh blankie, love you" and kissed it, and then hugs it, a lot. He's the cutest.

If you are an email subscriber to My Publisher they are having a really awesome sale right now. But the catch is that you have to use it before mid-August, now I'm trying to rack my brain for something to put in 70 pages worth of photobook. I just bought a Shutterfly photo book, (through Living Social) that needs to be used before mid-July...I am going to be a busy bee for the next couple of months.

Nordstroms is having their half yearly sale, must find something to buy...hopefully I can score some good deals on maternity stuff. I need more work shirts to wear, I seem to be rotating through the same 5 shirts...need more choices!

Chicago!

Okay, so I haven't had time to get my pictures together, but I do have a couple to show you.

Picture of us just outside of Lincoln Park Zoo, wish we had more time to go on a picnic here, it was so pretty!

One of my favorite pictures, in front of the monkey cages, with my two monkeys.

At the wedding. Didn't have time for one of the bride and groom, so here's us instead.

This is from after we got back, Colton is obessessed with Tomato Soup, so we got some from Corner Bakery on our way home from the airport. I don't think a kid could love it more then he did. (that's his cheese face). Who needs a spoon when you can just drink it?

Some random things:

Don't fly United...or maybe check in 24 hours in advance? Not sure which yet, bottom line, they separated the three of us on the plane, yep my 2 year old was in his own row...in the middle seat and no one cared or wanted to help fix the problem. Fun times...NOT!

We had a fantastic time in Chicago, it's so much fun traveling with family, most of my aunt, uncles and cousins were there, so it was fun to see everyone in a different city.

iPad was totally necessary accessory for the 4.5 hour plane ride...thank goodness we had one. Also, my kid likes to watch Dumbo with no sound, he watch the entire thing twice with no sound.

Random Wednesday

Can I just be a professional juror? I mean seriously, we don't start until 9am on most days, get a break at 10:30am, get lunch from 12pm-1:30pm, get another break at 3pm, and then leave for the day around 4:15pm. Seriously? What a life, you sit there listen to some interesting stuff, get to see Law and Order play out in real life. Okay so it's not really that action packed and stuff, but it is sort of cool when the judge says sidebar and all of the lawyers go up to this desk to quietly whisper about stuff we're not supposed to hear. I could get used to this life...mostly the sleeping in part.

We're on a break for the rest of the week and will resume next week, get to miss another 4 days of work next week, heck ya! I love being able to actually stay up with my husband and watch more than 30 minutes of tv. It's awesome I tell ya.

Over the weekend we went to the farmers market and I can't tell you how cute a toddler is trying to consume a ginormous strawberry. I personally think it's because he was able to walk in the street by himself, which normally we don't let him. He was having a ball, and eating a ton of fruit, nothing could be better in my book.

and of course we didn't have any napkins on us...luckily we did have some wipes, it took approximately 10 wipes to un-stick-afy him. But worth it with how much he was enjoying the strawberries. Yep that's me and my small belly behind him.

Life of Lates

I haven't done any outfit posts lately because...well I feel like a big fat whale. Okay not really, but nothing really fits and with the morning sickness came the "don't touch or even look at me funny, I might puke" feeling. So anything constricting on my stomach was a no-no. So I've been left to wear the same dresses and cardigans every single day, week after week. Nothing to write home about, I've saving your eyes, really.

This pregnancy is so different from the last one. Last time I was hoping and praying I would be one of those girls that went up a cup size or two, but no dice, I nursed for 14 months and nothing, same size as before. But this time, holy cow, I think I need a new bra...now to decide which one to get.

Last night we went to Mastro's Ocean Club in Newport Beach for our anniversary. Yum, yum! We had a friend watching Baby Fox, and we just sat, enjoyed our meal without being rushed. So nice! This was our view, well not exactly our view, this picture was taken from the website, but we got to stare at the ocean the whole time during sunset, it was perfect.

Baby Fox has such a great sense of humor. The other day Mr. was taunting him because Baby Fox couldn't quite reach Mr. with his stick kid hands. Baby Fox thought this was hilarious and was laughing all while trying to get Mr. Then all of a sudden, Baby Fox stops laughing and says "Come Closer" and does that hand gesture to go with. Both Mr. and I busted out laughing, like where did that come from, and it was slightly creepy the way Baby Fox said it. Love that kid.

Cause every tractor needs a dinosaur driving it and another one being chased by it. See all those dinosaurs lined up in the background? I don't think this kid has enough dinosaurs....riiiight!
Baby Fox got bumped to the next level of swim class, which means, no more getting in the pool with him anymore. Just him another student and a teacher. He's totally ready, but I don't think I'm ready for my baby to be swimming. Perhaps Baby Fox needs another nickname. Naaaawww, he'll always be my baby!

What's been going on in your life? Anything random?

Random Wednesday

Some random things:

Those of you that are not stuck under a rock, know a new pope was elected last week. Pope Francsis, I think it's a terrific name and so far love everything that he represents. We'll see as time goes on, how he will re-shape people's view the Catholic church. But that's not really the reason I mention this, the reason I mention this is that, 8 years ago, April 2, 2005 my husband and I got married, and guess what happened on that day? Pope John Paul II  died...yes, on our wedding day. So now 8 years later and our anniversary is right around the corner, we get another Pope...hmm...I hope it's not us.

I really need to jump on this GFC thing is going away...just do it...I can do this. I must not resist change. Just sign up for Bloglovin' it's easy, simple and yet I have yet to do it. I keep telling myself apparently I have until July, so I have 3.5 more months to wrap my head around this. I CAN DO THIS!

Via

I'm ready to feel normal again. I have forgotten what it feels like to go through the day without feeling hung over all the time. I told Mr. if this was my first pregnancy, he/she would be an only child. Period, end of story.

What are some random things you've been thinking about lately?

Random Wednesday

Baby Fox and I were visiting a friend and her daughter after work and we were having left overs for dinner. I was running a little late getting home, so I asked Mr. to re-heat everything. He knew that I was going to cook another batch of broccoli, so he thought he would help (without me asking, how sweet is that?). I could smell the broccoli when I walked into the door and said, thanks for starting the broccoli...then thought, I wonder if he cut it up...I open the lid and saw this. It was actually working, but I ended up taking it out (with a pot holder) and cutting it up so that it would cook faster. Gotta give the man credit for trying. After I took the picture Mr. said, "you're not going to post about this on your blog are you"...umm...of course not honey. =)

Onto some random things:

Looking forward to the second trimester...apparently that doesn't start till week 14...say what? I thought pregnancy was 9 months, 9 divided by 3 is 3, hence 12 weeks...oh that's right it's because pregnancy is actually 40 weeks, divided by 4 is 10 months...liars! I'm not going to count those random months with 5 weeks..that's just mean. Well played medical people, you're all liars!

Mr.'s birthday is on Friday, come back Friday and wish him a happy birthday. His work decided to be mean and make him work all weekend, and have a late meeting on his birthday, that should be illegal. Working on your birthday is bad enough, but a late work meeting on your birthday, not cool.

I realize I have three weeks before Easter, and I have a kid now so he needs an Easter basket from the Easter Bunny, plus eggs to find, so I decided anything I buy from now until then is going into his Easter basket...And what's a post without a cute picture of Baby Fox?

From last year...he had just started to really walk...he wasn't sure why we kept asking him to find eggs, but he obliged us and found them anyway...

Random Wednesday

Okay, so I don't have an outfit post today. I have been uninspired lately. I wore this outfit yesterday that could have been something, but it really needed a scarf, so it didn't get photographed. So we'll just skip to the random things I've been thinking:

I finally got my wedding ring professionally cleaned after 3 years of not doing so. Life just seemed to get in the way, I know bad excuse, but the other day Mr. and I found ourselves without the baby and slightly early to something, so we ran over to the jewelers to get my ring cleaned and boy does it sparkle now! Wish I had a picture I could share!

Random fact about me: I have gotten my eyebrows waxed every 3 weeks for the past 10 years, with the same lady for the past 8. I know, right, I try not to think about how much money I spend on them. I have these weird eyebrows that if you pluck 1 wrong hair, they look funky...I'd rather spend the money every 3 weeks then look funky. Every once in a while I will go 4 weeks, and I look like bush woman...seriously, you need a weed whacker.  No joke!

Baby Fox has started to actually eat more than just pureed food, can I get an Amen?! Which reminds me of how far we've really come. This is his first time trying carrots. He's almost 7 months old here.

This picture makes me giggle EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. How can you not?

Tonight we're off to get some ashes, hopefully Baby Fox doesn't cause a ruckus in church.

Have a great Wednesday!
