3 Complete Family Photo Shoot Outfits

Hello Foxy Friends! Today is my Friday cause tomorrow is my off day, woo hoo! Although I have to take Mini Fox back to the doctors to have her wart frozen again, poor thing. So that's 6 outfits, and I'll have three more next week too! Next week I'm going to try and go a little more casual, cause all of these outfits are dresses, I just really love wearing dresses for photoshoots, mostly because you don't have to suck it in as much as with pants and a shirt, LOL. 7 Fall Outfits

I've mentioned this a few times, but this month I am participating in the Common Threads Challenge, where we pick 5 things from our closet and then each day have to use one of those 5 things and pick our outfit around that. So here is day 11 through 17.

Day 11

I worked from home on this day, and admittedly wore some workout pants and this pink t-shirt. I had to take the kids to get their shots, so I threw on some pants, flip flops and called it a day. No make up, I don't even think I brushed my hair, oops!

Day 12

Shirt / Skirt  (similar)*/ Shoes (Similar) / Sweater (similar here, here and here)

Day 13

Sweater / Jeans* / Flats (similar)

Day 14

Day 15

I wore this outfit again and forgot to take a picture again. It was 90° out, and we went to the pumpkin patch and then headed to the pool to enjoy the sunshine...One day I'll document this outfit...it's really the only warm weather outfit I can do, considering everything else I picked is for cold weather, oops!

Skirt (similar) / Shirt (similar) / Heels (Similar)

Day 17

This might be my favorite outfit of the week. I totally wouldn't have put this together without this challenge. Even though blazers and dresses aren't a new thing.

The Best French Onion Soup

Hello Foxy Friends! Today I'm joining a few other bloggers for a little Fall Recipe Blog hop. When I was trying to figure out what I make for fall, we were/are still expereincing a heat wave. So the temps were pretty high, and it was hard to think Fall food when we are still wearing shorts and tank tops, haha. But I finally thought of something that both Mr. and I love! French Onion Soup.

What You'll Need:

1/4 Pound Butter
2-4 Pounds of Sweet Onions
1 Tablespoon of flour (2 Tablespoons if using 4 lbs of onion)
2 Quarts Beef Stock (if you prefer, you could use chicken stock, although I've never done this)
2 cups Dry White Wine (I picked Chardonnay)
salt and pepper to taste
Swiss Cheese
1 loaf French Breach

Directions:

Step 1:

Cut the onions, I cut off ends of onion, cut it in half and then use my food processor. I used to cut by hand, but this is SO much faster. Mr. and I LOVE onions, so we like to go heavy, and even with 4-5 pounds it's never enough! If you like the flavor but don't like all the onions, go on the 2 pound side.

Step 2:

Melt 2 Tablespoons (if using 2 pounds of onion, 4 tablespoons if using 4 pounds of onion) in a large pot.

Step 3:

Add in the onion. It will look like a ton but trust me, it cooks WAY down!

Cook until transparent and brown.

Step 4:

Add the flour, if using 2 pounds of onions us 1 tablespoon if using 4 pounds use 2 tablespoons. Mixing the flour with the onions will make it slightly sticky and gummy (for lack of better word).

Yep this is 4 pounds of onions...see I told you it cooked down, so don't skimp on the onions!

Step 5:

Add in the beef stock. I use Better than Bullion, but you can use what you want. Stir in and let it come to a boil, then simmer for about 15 minutes.

Step 6:

Add in the wine...and continue to simmer for 30-60 minutes. Know that the longer you simmer the better flavor you are going to have. If you start to lose too much liquid, partially cover it.

Side Note: We have tried all sorts of wines with this, whatever wine you chose it will have an undertone with that wine, so if you use 2 buck chuck, that is what it's going to have a slight taste of. Mr. says that this is the BEST one I had ever made, so after 12 years of searching I think we found the wine that made it the best. So get the Castle Rock Chardonnay while you can!

Step 7:

Meanwhile, cut your bread into thin slices, you can do this several ways. You can butter both sides, and broil, you can toast it like regular toast, then butter, or not butter.

Step 8:

Set oven to 375°. Over the years, Mr. and I have decided that we don't like putting the bread into the soup, like they normally do at resturants, we REALLY like the crunch the toast part gives, and it sometimes just gets soggy if your slices aren't thin enough, so we've ditched the putting the bread in. However, if you want to add the bread in the soup before melting the cheese do it as follows to keep the crunch.

Add soup to bowl, add a shredded layer of cheese, add the toast, add sliced layer of cheese. This sort of protects the bread a bit from the soup and it getting soggy. Put in oven until cheese is bubbly and golden.

There you have it, the BEST French Onion Soup EVER!

$10 Target Haul: October Edition

Happy Monday Friends! It's that time of the month when we give you permission to go to Target and spend $10. You can tell your significant others that we gave you permission, cause that totally works right? Anyway, last month I got a bunch of stuff for Halloween and I sort of did the same this month.

I saw these little lanterns and I HAD to have them, they were calling my name. I had no idea how I was going to use them, but for $3 each, they were mine!

Then they had that little cute skeleton and I had to bring him home too, thinking I could hang him in the corning of the room, only it turns out he was small. So I moved him to by the table with the lanterns. I have something else for this wall, but have to put it together still, I'll show you on Friday.

So how much did I spend?

Lanterns: $3 each for a total of $6
Skeleton: $3

Total: $9.83

Under the budget again, woo hoo! So what did you get with your $10? Go see what the other ladies got with their $10.

Friday Favorites #138

Happy Friday! Full 5 day work week for me, with 12 hours of overtime...boo! Super sucks, I hate having to put the kids to bed and then going back to work, blah. Anyway, it's Friday and I'm going to try and limit my work over the weekend...Going out with the bestie tonight, first time since she moved in my area, super excited! So let's get to my Friday Favorites:

Monday: A Day In the Life
Tuesday: Dressember Challenge Recap
Wednesday: Common Threads Week 2
Thursday: Fall FabFitFun Unboxing

Here's the video I did. I have so many video ideas, not enough hours in the day to record, edit and process it all!

I already recapped Saturday here, so Sunday we FINALLY made it to the movies. Truth be told I fell asleep..only for a second...it was SO BORING! We saw Ninjago...I really liked the Batman movie too.

Monday girl had her gymnastics class, she is loving it, and I am so glad, since she was hesitant to take the class to begin with.

Showing off all of her after class stamps.

This girl had her 4 year well check this week. She is 80% in height and 70% in weight.

Hearing check came out good.

Doctor listening to her heart.

Both kids needed shots, Baby Fox needed a flu shot, poor thing started crying the night before at dinner when we told him, then again in the car on the way there, but as soon as he got the sucker was okay. Poor Mini Fox went second and tried to hide when he heard the ruckus that her brother was making, then started screaming/crying the whole time. She had to get three shots, but the nurse did the first two so fast, Mini Fox still counts it as one...she was all smiles as soon as the nurse put the band aids on her wounds.

He wanted me to take a picture of how he caught the ball. Here is a conversation Baby Fox had with Mr. the other day. Wanted to write this down before I forgot it.

Baby Fox: Dad, did you know that I meditated last night?

Mr.: You did? How did you learn that?

Baby Fox: At school, want to mediate with me?

Mr.: Sure.

Baby Fox: Okay, now sit criss cross applesauce, and put your fingers like this (pinching thumb and pointer finger, hands resting on knees). Now avoid all thoughts.

(silence for a bit while they meditate)

Baby Fox: Okay, you can be done now.

Then the next night they meditated again, this time Baby Fox ran and got his iPad so he could time them for a 3 minute mediation session.

As always linking up with The Blended Blog to share some lover around the blogger community.

First up is Crissy from Granola and Grace, she wrote a review on Guiltless Goodies, which is an online company that makes snacks that are gluten, grain, dairy, soy, yeast and preservative-free. What? That's awesome? They even have donuts, I'm in!

Anne from Anne In Residence has the cutest DIY series, where she tries Pinterest pins. This week she tried a super cute and EASY pumpkin project. Take a look at just how easy this project was.
