An Outfit + An Obsession

Happy Hump Day! Okay that might be a little enthusiastic. But in any case, half way to Friday! And what's a Wednesday without an outfit post? I totally forgot that I could twin Deena with this shirt, until I found it in a bag that I guess I hadn't unpacked everything. Oops! I was totally excited when I found it because I remembered how much I loved it. Super light weight and easy to wear in the hot months coming.

Instead of doing a half tuck like I normally do, I decided to go with a tie, loved it.

I didn't really go into much detail yesterday, but thought I would share my dirty little secret, okay not really. My name is Sarah and I'm a scrapbooker. I started it back before it was even the "it" thing to do, Christmas 1996 my Mom thought it would be a cool thing to do together, we took a class and I ran with it.

That first green binder (this was back when the scrapbook pages only came in 8.5" x 11") was the book my mom bought me. It was a three ring binder with the cover pages. In order it goes:

Green = Highschool
Light Blue = Freshman/Sophomore years of College
Burgundy =  Sophomore/Junior Years of College
Dark Blue = Junior/Senior Years of College
White = After College

But wait there is more:

Another whole cabinet worth.

Okay not all of them are scrapbooks, just the very bottom shelf. The two boxes on the bottom shelf are our wedding pictures, that didn't make the album (see below). Yep we got married before the digital age, rather the digital cameras were just becoming popular, I have 36 rolls of film of our wedding.

The middle shelf has the pictures in just a regular photo albums of the photos that didn't make it into the scrapbook.

Top shelf has some more pictures that I've printed and done nothing with, and photobooks that I've made online. I have an addiction I tell ya. One day I'll do a review on which photobooks services I like the most, I'm tried probably half a dozen or so...

The two black books on the left are the pictures our photographer printed and put in albums for us. The rest of those are Shutterfly 8x8 books of random things we've done.

The photo books stand up on the left are of our vacations together. I knew I wasn't going to be able to scrapbook our vacations, so I bought picture photobooks with the little ledger on the side of each picture, so I could jot down what the picture was. The the books on the right are ones I made online. That green journal looking thing...now I'm owning my crazy, like Erika says. That journal holds every single feed/poop/pee/sleep that both kids did for the first 6 months of life...at least. It was actually helpful when we had Mini Fox to see what Baby Fox did at that same age.

And there you have it, all of my photos that I've printed so far. Maybe next time I'll show you all of my scrapbooking supplies, I could give Michael's a run for their money. Not even joking.

Spring Outfit and Some Randoms

Happy Wednesday, hump day, I only have one more day of work and then off for 3 days, woo hoo! This is an outfit I wanted to put together for a while. I finally got the nerve to wear it. I tend to sway towards A-Line dresses, so this maxi dress is definitely out of my comfort zone. But the jacket really helped out a bit on the comfort level.  I wish I had taken pictures of my cute new sandals, but forgot. I was trying to get the pictures, while keeping the kids out of the pool.

We took these pictures in about 3 minutes, and this is how many times and directions Mini Fox walked in and out of the pictures. She's so cute.

On to some randoms for the day:

  • My fitness update: it's sort of taken a back seat in light of our trips to both Tahoe and Santa Barbara, but we're back on track this week. Luckily I haven't fallen too far off course. I'll check back in next week, I think I might be backing off a little on being so strict with it, it was making me way grumpy and just totally unhappy at times, especially on the weekend when I didn't have meals planned and there was no food in the house. I'll keep you posted.

  • Loving these pictures that we got while we were gone.

  • I just got an email from Picaboo (photobook site) and they are having unlimited free pages for the price of a book, so I could have up to 160 pages for $45, that's a pretty good deal! Deal ends on Monday at midnight PST, so if you're wondering where I am for the next week I'll be behind my computer trying to get 160 pages worth of pictures in. Looking back at pictures like this:

I just can't believe how little my babies were. Now I'm going back to working on my photobook...I'm doing my picture a day for Mini Fox's first year of life...I'm in the beginning of October, 11 more months to go! Pray for me.

Hope you are all having a great week!

The Pacifier Mystery Solved!

The days are getting shorter, I'm going to have to find somewhere in my house to start taking my pictures. Usually I take pictures after work, pretty soon it's going to be dark when I leave and when I get home, sigh.

It seems almost impossible that I haven't put this outfit together. So simple on these hot days. I went to Payless to pick up a pair of their Defelex Comfort shoes (and yes they are super mega comfortable) in nude and the sales lady said...I never would have thought to put that turquoise color with purple/blue. Well thank you!

When walking out the door for work, instead of grabbing my jean jacket, I decided to grab this blazer. Not sure if I totally like it, but I'm leaning towards the I like camp right now.

Now onto some random things.

Remember how I told you I was watching this show? Well how perfect was it that Alfonso did the "Carlton" on Dancing with the Stars this week. Made my week.

I'm so ready for cooler weather. I seriously feel like we've been in a constant Spring/Summer mode for the last two years. Last year it rained maybe 3 times and all of our flowers were blooming in March! Seriously? We've had in the 90° weather for the last week or so. We're supposed to be getting a "cold front", you know 80° weather for a few days before it goes back up. This happens every October, why am I always surprised?

I found out this week there can be too many raisins in Raisin Bran. This is the best one out there, they are small little flakes that are chewy and delicious! But every once in a while we get a box where the raisin machine must have had a freak out and dumped 2-3 boxes worth of raisins in...I love raisins, but 10 raisins on each bite is a bit much.

We've had the case of the missing pacifiers. Slowly but surely all of Mini Fox's pacifiers were disappearing. It was like the mystery of the socks in the dryer...couldn't figure out where they were going. Well turns out Little Miss, was throwing them behind her crib...we found 11 back there. LOL, sneaky girl. Mr. retrieved them on Friday and guess what? This morning she was back down to 4...silly girl. At least we don't have to keep buying new ones...just move the crib. haha.

Fingers Crossed, Please, Please, Please Work!

First things first...I dropped my phone in a cup of water...I was driving and thought I was putting it in the empty cup holder, clearly I didn't...I'm so sad and I hope the rice thing works...keeping fingers crossed. Okay now that's out of the way, let's get to the outfits!

Last week of the  Summer Style Me with Alison,  here's week 1, week 2 and week 3. I'm sad to see it go, but with me working 5 days a week, it was really me subbing every outfit, but gave me some good work outfits to wear. Like day 17, I like day 17 this round. Hey looking at all the pictures, what's up with day 19? The wrong arm is bent, apparently I have a stance...and Day 19 I got it all wrong.

I know you're dying for the break down so here we go:

Day 17

This is seriously the most comfy sweater ever, I want it in every color, is that weird? OH and they're on sale now, only $25...darn it I paid full price!

Striped Tee - Target, Jeans - Loft (old), Sweater - Nordstroms (Currently on sale!), Wedges- Nordstroms (currently unavailable, but might come back, so keep checking), Earrings - Target

Day 18

This is sort of like outfit from Day 1 except I am wearing flats and a necklace, but it totally changes the feel of the outfit. I was slightly cold when I left for work so I threw on the jean jacket (JJA I tell ya.

Pink Jeans - White House Black Market (old), Shirt - Target, Jean Jacket - Old Navy, Sandals - Target (old), Necklace - Jane.com

Day 19

Happy Independence Day! This is what I wore to our Fourth of July Party. Let me tell you about this top. I was getting party supplies for Baby Fox's Half Birthday and Ross was right next to door to Party City. Hey I've never been in a Ross so I quickly went in. Now I remember why I avoid these stores, not because they don't have great deals, but because there is just SO Much that I feel overwhelmed and then walk out...is that strange? Anyway I didn't have anything to wear for the 4th, but saw this and while it was a size I don't normally wear, it fit perfect, I think it was meant to be.

Wait for it...the back is awesome isn't it?

Day 20

Maxi Skirt = Pajama Bottoms...don't you agree? I love wearing it because it feels like I am wearing comfy clothes, add a tee shirt, simple necklace and a fedora, makes for a pretty awesome outfit. Will definitely be repeating this one! Especially with all of my newly acquired maxi skirts.

Day 21

Last day, sniff sniff. It was ridiculously hot, think 95° so I opted to wear shorts instead of the palazzo pants. Sorry for the super wrinkly shorts, this is the end of the day, and we had been in the car a lot.

Shirt - Nordstroms, Shorts - Loft, Shoes - Toms (on sale!), Necklace - Jane.com

I loved the summer challenge, while I didn't get to wear all of the pieces and still haven't found a black maxi that looks good on me, it was fun to get to know the other challenge ladies. Speaking of which go check some of them out, they're all pretty awesome.
